Proof that you don't need talent or brains to make it to Broadway. She's a joke.

She’s got a decent voice and she’s good looking.
Good enough.

All these musicals that are basically just "Best of" compilations of 60's thru 90's acts are pretty lame.

It sure is! She's a total babe. And she's a good actress, she was great in Crossroads!
Oh baby, baby!

Terrible voice (auto-tuned 1/2 the time) and looks don't mean diddley. There's no songs from her, she can't sing or dance to save her life.
If you're in the music business - you need talent, musicality. You need to bring something to the party.
I grew up listening to the Go-Go's and the Bangles and as much as I would love to sit and cuddle next to them,
if I didn't like their music it wouldn't mean anything to me. And even thought many girls in my Generation X adored the Fab Five (Duran Duran) as heartthrobs, their musicality overpowers their videogenic looks by far. I dig Duran Duran for their music, they're great and I don't care about how 'cute' they are. They ROCK.
And I don't care how sexy Shania Twain, the Spice Girls or all those pop tarts may be - their 'singing' and their 'songs' are wretchedly awful. And I've seen some female rockers who don't push the 'sexuality' angle who have paid their dues and are terrific musicians by their own merit - Heart, Joan Jett, Frankie Rose, Nylon Pink, Shonen Knife, Debbie Harry, Melody's Echo Chamber, Boytoy, Kitty, Shannon Knowles and more. Lady rockers!

I don't get the snobbery, at all. Britney is a talented pop star, she does what is says on the tin. Her music wouldn't be my cup of tea but I wouldn't dismiss her just because of that.
Yes, she may not have the gravitas of Nina Simone or Odetta but there's room for all in the pantheon of popular music.

Maybe your party isn’t the same as everyone else’s party.
Me and my brother did a good acoustic version of ‘Oops I did it again’ with me on vocals for the kids at Christmas, although we ripped it off from Richard Thompson’s version. It goes without saying we didn’t play it as well as Thompson, although I did get some credit for the vocals and by credit I mean a 40-something man getting a few laughs with the ‘I’m not that innocent’ line.
Great fun. Good song. Nothing to dislike here.
