Absolutely adored this woman. Great actress, singer and all around good person, don’t see a lot of those these days anymore. Definitely will miss you. RIP ONJ

I always liked her. Can't remember ever hearing anything bad, which is a little strange for most Hollywood-types who gain fame of that level.

Requiescat in pace, a great performer and entertainer. Always came across as a truly nice person.

Modern Japanese tv hardly ever shows film of foreign music when doing nostalgia shows, but ONJ was really big in Japan. Second hand record shops have loads of her records. I was at someone's house the other day who a few and put "Xanadu" on.

Grease was such a big part of my childhood. Loved her in that. It seems like everyone from the generation before mine that helped shaped my life are passing away.

She is at peace now. She's spent the last two decades battling breast cancer. Everybody knows her for Grease, but there was a lot more to her. She did a lot of charity work. She was also a famous Australian TV personality before Grease. She also introduced the US to Vegemite through her Aussie shop. Sad day, for sure. However, everybody shares memories of her.

The soundtrack also featured (Jeff Lynne's) ELO on it. Great music for sure. And seeing ONJ on TV in her white shorts thrusting her hip while singing 'Magic' sure got my 14 yr. old mojo going ; )

I never liked the song 'Physical', however. The video is dumb at best and she puts out the verses like a sex droid:

We've lost yet another legend and icon. Deepest condolences to her family. I hope ONJ is now resting in peace because she's been battling cancer for years. She'll be sorely missed, that's for sure.

And to think about that yuppified puke that passes for 'country' today!

Tammy and Co. didn't like an Aussie taking the prize, huh? There's been plenty of 'crossovers', then and since. I remember Tom Jones making a country album and even singing on a country awards TV show when I was a kid. Ray Charles did a country album or two. Or three. Even Stevie Wonder had a country hit song in 1980.

Others have made 'crossover' music too. Are Sting's first few solo albums light rock or jazz? Miles Davis sure must've stirred up a stink with his groundbreaking fusion double album 'Bitch's Brew' at the end of the 60s. What about Kenny G? Jazz or pop? And then there is the genre-transcending Elvis.......

Even Kenny Rogers crossed the lines so many times. Not to mention Charlie Daniels and the whole Southern Rock genre.

Sometimes you just can't put things in as box. Somethings you can't define. And ONJ is one of many of them.

John Travolta was then also older than a high schooler, in his mid-20s - and she's older than him!

Ya don't often see women older than their co-stars when playing the same age characters - but they played it to perfection

Her best-selling "Let's Get Physical" song got around the sex censors by making it look like an exercise music video, lol
