British actor Orlando Bloom, 33, has been recruited into the cast of Uniqlo's new global ad campaign. He is appearing in a commercial for Uniqlo's winter range that began airing on TV on Thursday.
The ad was shot in a documentary style and shows Bloom snowboarding on a cold winter morning in the gently falling snow, wearing a crew neck Heat Tech top under a down parka jacket. The images are supported by narration from Bloom, who talks about those winter days when you just have to get outside, whatever the weather.
Uniqlo has been pushing for overseas expansion recently using the slogan "MADE FOR ALL." Although Bloom had heard of Uniqlo before, it was his first time wearing the brand himself. His verdict was that, "The clothes are comfortable and the texture's great. They're the kind of unpretentious clothes that anyone can wear."

Well, I sport a slendid bloat at 105 kgs. and am only 172cms. and I can't find a thing to fit me at uniqlo, not even a hat. Now where's that triple cheeseburger I was eating ...?
Ah_so
The Uniqlo sizes in the UK are all one down from Japan - a Japan L will be a Uniqlo UK M. This accounts for the larger size of Europeans than Japanese.
In other stores, I have seen shirts marked as L for the UK and mainland Europe also have "US M" stamped next to them, to account for the larger size of Americans compared to Europeans.
This means that a Uniqlo L in Japan would logically equate to a USA S.
I fit into Uniqlo just right, in Britain or Japan. My 183cm slender physique is just right.

Oh, no, Sarge. I just don't go for clothes manufactured on a huge assembly line, all looking the same, like TV screens pouring out of Chinese factories by the millions.
Elbuda Mexicano
Orlando is a handsome devil and he even fits into this tiny Japanese sized Uniqlo stuff! Me?? With my nice Mexican beer and taco belly?? Heck no! Made for all?? Yeah for all the vegetarian, tofu eating skin and bones black coffee and cigarette smoking "beautiful people!" I like Orlando but when will Asian clothe makers understand the beauty of nice Mexican beer gut??

"I never thought I'd live to see the day when I would go to Uniqlo with an elf"
"How about with a friend?"
"Aye, that I can do."
LoveUSA
Not my type, Sarge. Nothing interests me in him.

I fit into UNIQLO, too. Wonder how big the JT crowd is.

Ooooh! Lubly jubly! Nothing like a little eye-candy to get a girl up and about in the mornings.....
mrskit
his wife Miranda Kerr is pregnant (she is Victoria secret model), so he must be busy getting ready for that i guess i would get a culture shock if i went to wherever you XL people are from,,,

Maybe some of you should drop the burgers, I am 185 cm tall, 85kg and XL Uniqlo fits me just fine.
Sarge
Woof! Woof! Ha ha ha!
"Uniqlo's products look like "MADE FOR THE MASSES" and that does not include me."
Wow, you must be among the elite!
I wonder what Cleo, LoveUSA and Ranger Miffy have to say about this guy...
JustAGoodOlBoy
....wonder if he'll be shooting Orcs with a bow and arrow while board'n like he did at Helm's Deep.
XXXXX
the Uniqlo hp also features Charlize Theron
papasmurfinjapan
Ahh, Legolas, I wouldn't mind one of your elf coats to go with my uniqlo undies.
presto345
Not sure this is a very appealing slogan. To me Uniqlo’s products look like "MADE FOR THE MASSES" and that does not include me.

@ EbiChiri
Who are you supposed to be? Some kind of gossip columnist?
He probably just had time off. Good luck to him.

Mmmm...Orlando... Joy for my eyes!
marcels
The slogan "MADE FOR ALL"" would be nice if it were true, I,m always trying to find the right size, of xl and up but most of the time they don,t have up...and same with the jeans and pants they stop at 92 size most of the time...
MrDog
They do have them, but they're not XL, they're Japanese XL.
lovejapan21
Ebichiri...i would include 99% of stores in Japan as well.
EbiChiri
So Orlando has come back from the dead, haven't seen or heard his name in quite some time. Is the bloom off the Bloom ? Maybe Uniqlo will now sell some larger sizes here finally, I can't find any XL sizes at all there.
