Who cares, there’s more to the world than China.
Beam ‘em everywhere else!

China thinks it can buy us all... sorry, I'm not for sale.

By now, China should have their premium 'Chowcars' award show.

Yes. I remember reading a comparison of watching films to the making of sausages - if you saw how they were made and what goes into them, you wouldn’t eat them, or you’d put it into the back of your mind.

Does anybody even care anymore? The awards will go to some artsy-fartsy movie or one that will set your cliche meter/BS detector to overload anyway. And who's gonna remember who gets what? Or who wears what or who says what?
China ain't missing nothing and it's going to be a BUST in America too. It's a joke.

They will flop everywhere. A narcissist non event of self idolatry with zero content. Forced jokes, fake modesty and sold out awards for the highest bidding producers or socially and politically correct “ winners”.
scrap it
NOMINATION
Wokeness, identity politics and partisan views have made the Oscar ratings crash as they have for the other award shows.

You beat me the it. At this point I don’t the Oscars will be on TV anymore. It might turn into a pay per view event, other than that I can’t see the popularity of it ever going up again.
NOMINATION
In related news, the Oscars will flop in the U.S. as well.

Oscars are a flop in the US too. Americans are tired of Hollywood politics and the movies produced by those people. I now stream mostly international films and series. Korean productions are highest quality followed by European. China is truly the worst. I'm saddened that Japan focuses almost entirely on Anime. I miss the golden age of Japanese cinema.

Who cares what the Chinese think?

I thought the Oscars were a dud globally? And anyway Chloe Zhao may have come from China but she really doesn’t seem Chinese based on her interviews and affinity towards the US. China loves it when one of their own succeeds abroad if they play up the Chinese propaganda but villainize those that actually have a brain and speak their opinions.
Skeptical
Not surprising, since the Academy's members uniformly condemn what is being done to the Uighurs in Xinjiang. And the crackdowns on Hong Kong's pro-democracy protests. The C.C.P's inability to accept critique, from outside or from within, makes condemnation way too easy.
