Former Beatle Paul McCartney, 71, will tour Japan in the fall for the first time in 11 years. McCartney will perform at Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome on Nov 15 and at Tokyo Dome Nov 18-21.
McCartney will be the oldest solo performer ever to perform at Tokyo Dome.
The tour is part of McCartney's "Out There!" world tour which began in May. Thus far, he has played 20 concerts in six countries. In June, during one of his concerts in the U.S., McCartney performed 26 songs from the Beatles, including "8 Days a Week," a song which the Beatles had never sung on stage.
Promoters said concert equipment for McCartney will be transported on two cargo planes to Japan a month before the tour. Osaka may also be added to the tour dates, but that hasn't been decided yet.

Tokyo Dome is the absolute worst venue to host a music event. Go there only if you enjoy paying lots of yen to watch a concert on big screens.

@Romeo - Yup, I've been right up there at the back of the stadium, too. The arena seating (standing area) is better if you're tall, but the acoustics are terrible everywhere. Saying that, I wouldn't mind seeing Macca live.

He just played here recently. I'm told it was an excellent show.

As long as he doesn't do any Wings numbers could be ok. Still think more fun to watch the Bootleg Beatles do their old numbers than some old number doing them solo.

I'm pretty sure this will sell out even though it is Tokyo Dome with its crappy acoustics. McCartney's Beatle songs tend to be more popular than Lennon's in Japan. 'Let it Be', 'Hey Jude' and 'Yesterday' seem to be the ones people mention when asked about their favourite Beatles songs.

Sam him on the Colbert Report the other day. His voice is a shadow of its former self, but otherwise he's a fine performer.

I guess drug convictions don't count if you got money. Corrupt immigration officials turn a blind eye if the price is high enough.

70!?! Blimey, time marches on.

Hmmm. A true music legend, but time does indeed march on. If the Olympics performance was anything to go by and the acoustics are that bad in there, I wouldnt bank on seeing or hearing much either.
