Best practices surrounding philanthropic organizations do not allow for the establishment of perpetual funding allotments for anyone, including Nell and Susan Newman

This lokks like a very good argument to refuse accepting the conditions made by Newman to use his name for the foundation. From the arguments made from the daughters it seems the foundation was perfectly fine ignoring the "best practices" in order to get the approval from Paul Newman, but as soon as he died used them as an excuse to break the deal.

It's a simple power trip by the administrators of the foundation. They don't want to be beholden to anyone, nor to let anyone else make decisions on where the money goes.

If Mr Newman's stipulation was in writing, the daughters have an excellent case.

Its choose of words, perpetual funding, is likely very disrespectull of Newman's daughters and its sounds he would want them to have an active role in the foundation with his name and money, as also to support his daughters, not to create some managers power over his foundation and his daughters. He may have not made that clear by text or some gramar is being interpreted the other way.
