I loved Pink Floyd and went to many concerts and outdoor concerts. But Waters is very strange these days.

Just because you can play a musical instrument doesn’t mean you have an intellectual grasp of geopolitics or won’t fall for russian fascist propaganda.

Pink Floyd’s music I love, these imbecilic remarks are just that.

Well done Waters, anti-establishment, anti-system, keep going !!..

Waters wrote an open letter to Ukrainian first lady Olena Zelenska early this month in which he blamed “extreme nationalists” in Ukraine for having “set your country on the path to this disastrous war.” He also criticized the West for supplying Ukraine with weapons, blaming Washington in particular.

Waters has also criticized NATO, accusing it of provoking Russia.

And Waters is sooooo right, especially the provocations of the NATOcircus since the end of the cold war..

None of that is correct.

The governments of Poland and Hungary were elected in free elections. I think you find your comments from Chinese crackers.

Waters makes a pointed reference to right-wing Ukrainian nationalists, but nobody has encouraged and incited Ukrainian nationalism more than Putin. Killing people and destroying families and homes tends to drive humans to extremes of emotion, like "Us and Them". You reap what you sow.

Everything Waters said about this conflict is spot on.

Fighting the system is their blood and part of the Rock and Roll music and culture.

Here's a better statement about the war from rockers David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Andriy Khlyvnyuk:

Roger Waters used to be a great songwriter, but has always been a whiny schmuck.

I am not going to say I agree with him or not.

I am going to point out that many here and many now saying the above were saying a very different thing when it was Bush and Iraq and Afghanistan.

Remember how upset one side was with the Chicks (formerly Dixie Chicks) and remember how upset people got with the "shut up and dribble " aimed at sport figures.

So I find it funny the side that previously complained about being told to shut up are now doing the same and telling people to shut up!

Now that said the guy has a habit of saying strange things about a lot of stuff.

During war, hard to express without puttin(g) at risk lives.

Typical! Another "far-right fascist" spreading their love for Putin and criticizing Ukraine's resistance!!!

Oh wait...that doesn't quite work here, does it? lol.

By the way, check out this has-been grandpa's long-documented openly anti-Semitic insanity when it comes to the "Palestinian question"...Good grief! The term "Unhinged" doesn't begin to describe it...

Poland is not attacking Russia. It is the country with the highest number of Ukrainian refugees. Two million.

Waters should have held his concert and made it free to those Ukrainian refugees. But I guess he's no Bono.

Waters is a staunch, long-term supporter of the Australian journalist Julian Assange, who has now been held for over 1,200 days in Britain's maximum security Belmarsh prison, despite never having been convicted of a crime.

Assange's 'offence' is exposing US war crimes in in Iraq, Afghanistan and the military prison at Guantánamo, including the 'collateral damage' video which shows the murders of at least 18 unarmed civilians, including 2 Reuters journalists, in Baghdad in 2007 by an Apache gunship. For exposing these and other war crimes Assange became the target of a kidnapping and murder plot by Mike Pompeo's CIA.

Waters is 79, an age where most British millionaire rock stars are content to sit on their chintz sofas in their Surrey country houses dreaming of past glories; instead, he's out there fighting the power with the passion of a man half his age.

Recently Waters claimed that Taiwan has been part of China since 1947 (?) and when asked about the CCP and Mao, Waters actually defended Mao! And Mao murdered millions!

BTW, a charity single is coming out next month. It's a Ukrainian folk-rock singer who joined the Uke Army and he's singing a local folk song in his language. Since it has Gilmour and Mason backing him up, it's been released as a 'Pink Floyd' project f/ what's-his-name and proceeds go to the war relief.

Yea the US has confirmed what Waters has been saying since 1972, though recently it has started to backpedal on that in order to justify a military confrontation... which naturally isn't appreciated by China.

Just to be clear Roger Waters is no longer a member of Pink Floyd and hasn't played with them since 2005.

The two remaining members of Pink Floyd, Nick Mason and David Gilmour, released a single in support of Ukraine relief earlier this year.

Still can’t believe I got front row seats for his Hitchhikers tour. Anyway, I’m glad to hear Rogers is on the anti warmongering side. So many are just parroting whatever CNN tells them.

Whatever an artists opinions, free speech should not prevent them from preforming. As long as they are not stirring up extreme racial hatred or hatred to a certain part of the population or anything similar, I say let the audience decided who they pay to see.

Yeah, man. Cuz Putin -- ex KGB colonel whose aim is to restore the old Russian Empire -- is such a groovy radical dude.

Assange was sent to prison after being convicted of breaching bail, which is a crime.

The venue owners canceled the concerts scheduled for next April.

""Live Nation Polska and Tauron Arena Krakow have cancelled Roger Waters' concert," organisers said in a statement on the venue's website. They did not elaborate on the reason for the cancellation."

Yes, you're right. He breached bail so he's spent 1,200 days in Britain's highest security jail for the offence of exposing American war crimes.

Back on topic please.

Roger Waters talks and sounds like a pompous twit.

Just to be clear Roger Waters is no longer a member of Pink Floyd and hasn't played with them since 2005.

The two remaining members of Pink Floyd, Nick Mason and David Gilmour, released a single in support of Ukraine relief earlier this year.

Pink Floyd broke up in 2006 but released their last album (of musical scraps, but still very good stuff) around 2012 or so. The name of this new single is 'Hey Hey Rise Up' and it's really that Ukrainian folkie singer backed up by two Pinkies. It's got that track and a live Pink Floyd track (from who knows what show or tour) as a 'B-side'. It's coming out about October 22, 2022 and I already preordered my copy.

Like David Bowie stated in 1984 while promoting the Band-Aid single, 'If you don't like it, you can always throw the single away. But you will have contributed, and you will have made a difference for relief'.
