You may disagree with Barbaa but come on! She is one of the most intelligent people in American tv!!

Baba Wawa - grew up with her, as it were.

Most of us would be more than happy to have the career that she had. She is one smart and one tough lady, and a lot of women journalist own their careers to inspiration from her early work. How many of the men here make near as much money, or have near as much influence as she has. I would suspect none of us do.

Ok, there is something wrong with headline. It should read, "US TV Pioneer anchorwoman.....". I always thought she was a better interviewer than Katie Couric.

We believe she will retire because she is not healthy now. She is good in interviewing Govt. big shots and foreign diplomats When I watched her news show, I noticed she outdid male anchors even she was not called anchor and got 1/2 salary.

The saddest day in journalism since Walter Cronkite.

When attacks become personal, someone has done a good job ! I have been watching her just about as long as she has been on television. She is the consummate professional, a true pioneer of women in journalism.

She is an empty air head of a talking personality and without any real depth of character or ability, another example of American shallow culture being exported because she is a visible face on the media wheel

I suppose you only know her from The View, not her extensive career in journalism and broadcasting. I've never seen The View, having lived in Japan for ages, but I also suppose you are not the target audience for it-a woman. It's like saying football has no skill involved just because you don't like it. To each his own, but no need to rip or denigrate-sheesh!

Isn't "The View" the show where one of the participants argued that the earth was flat? Well, that's what the media's finally come to -- you have to provide equal time for the goofballs and nut cases.

I don;t watch View but I watched Today. ABC Evening News, ABC News, in USA. Once, we heard that her co-anchor is to be elected, he got twice mor salary than she was getting, Also, wr watched he trippled and injured her head sometime ago. She had heart surgery. For a long time, she was not called co-anchor.

One of the worst shows on TV, "The View" it's about time. Can't until Joy Behar retires as well.

Good riddance I say. Never liked her much anyway.

I won't miss her either.

I have no idea why you think this may be of interest to people from or interested in Japan. She is an empty air head of a talking personality and without any real depth of character or ability, another example of American shallow culture being exported because she is a visible face on the media wheel. Sorry you wasted space on this fine site.
