Pitt and Tarantino to be guests on 'Bistro SMAP'

American actor Brad Pitt, 45, will make his Japanese TV debut on SMAP×SMAP on Nov 16 (10 p.m. on Fuji TV). He will be accompanied by director Quentin Tarantino, 46. The pair were in Japan last week to promote their movie "Inglourious Basterds," which opens here on Nov 20.

Visiting celebrities often appear on the "Bistro SMAP" segment of the program in which members of the band cook for them.

Oh Brad, that beard was okay in Snatch; however, in a day to day setting, you look ridiculous with that scruffy thing hanging from your handsome face...

Maybe he's growing it for a role?

I just hope both make fun of SMAP

When the smap dudes sing off key as they are all tone deaf, Brad and his buddy will become sick.

Geez....how much money are they getting for that ??

Some actors between movies keep their hair growing as well as their beards because they don't know what role will come next. Maybe it calls for them to have scruffy looks like a sheep dog!!!!!

I hope they behave as Madonna did and calls them on their "Can you eat with chopsticls? Can you eat raw fish?" crap they gave her. I may have to watch this to see just how stupid they are with these guys. Maybe they'll walk off like Richard Gere did?

Gotta watch that too. The one with the Michibata sisters was hilarious.

I`m looking forward to Tarantino ordering a steak served "bloody as hell".

Stir Fry>>> It is a band, comedy group, and singer wanna bees. They are all tone deaf and cannot sing, but Bistro SMAP is fun to watch. Monday evenings I believe.

SMAP = Epic Fail

SMAP is short for pap smear. As in, "my girlfriend is getting her smap done this morning."

In case somebody really wants an honest answer, SMAP stands for "Sports Music Assemble People" in very Japanese-sounding weird English. Don't ask me what "assemble people" means. They are better cooks than they are singers, that's for damn sure.

Geez, Brad... you got something hanging from your face.

Anyway, this kind of thing is the main reason why movies like this come to Japan an average of two months later than other countries. The next biggest factor is of course paying less for viewing rights while still charging the maximum amount possible for movie-goers to watch. They wait until the actors have finished doing tours and what-not back in North America and then have them here for the premiere. Too bad I already saw this in South Korea in Mid-September.

Sadly, I know that SMAP is in fact short for Sports Music Assemble People, although I like pap smear better, and feel it's more suited to the band.

They suck, and can't sing a song live for the life of them. Nakai seems like a pretty nice guy, as does Shingo, but the rest seem like dullards. A buddy of mine who knows them says the same (he's in a band that's big here as well). SMAP X / Bistro is okay from time to time, in particular when it's a foreign celebrity, and it's funniest to see the biggest celebrities in Japan (ie. Kimtaku) squirm and giggle nervously when big Hollywood stars/singers come to Japan.

When will they just disappear, also Mister Children? I am sick of tone deaf wannabes.

Give me real music like Pink Floyd.

...I am totally watching this. I'm sure it will be a riot.

Thank the lord for cable TV! - Programs made for kids have more adult content than that SMAP TV crap.

i am so delighted! Smap hosts are so handsome but adding Pits good looks and Tarantinos originality, I feel so excited (doki-doki) already. Definitely a must see. I wonder what kind of dish they will prepare for the guests.

Brad Pitt looked really amazing, much better than on photo. The most handsome man on Earth he is.
