Pot calling the kettle black or what!!!

He should stop talking now.

He shouldn't say anything, but that doesn't mean he's wrong.

Certainly there are people mimicking the #metoo who have used their positions for sexual advantage.

I agree it is the height of hypocrisy for him to only be expelled by the Academy now after being lauded for decades, but that still doesn't change the fact that he raped a child.

hes slime, but so is 'the academy'. Hes right about the hypocrisy.

A child rapist has no right to weigh in on this whatsoever.

He also knows what ‘real’ sexual harassment is. None of this liberal touchy-touchy, bad word innuendo stuff for him. He goes straight for the date-rape drug and rape.

Canny reporter to ask him the question.

No deals for this predator. Don't care what his politics are or the movies he made. He's got away with it for too long.

Film director Roman Polanski dismissed the #MeToo movement as "mass hysteria" and "hypocrisy" in a Polish interview carried out before he was expelled from the Oscars academy.

He's right its no more than a grab for power and money, most if not all of these #MeToo women have never reported the so called crime to the police.

Polanski, who is a dual Polish and French citizen and currently lives in France, is wanted in the U.S. for the 1977 rape of Samantha Geimer.

The woman in question was interviewed some years ago, she doesn't regret her encounter with Roman Polanski one bit - all he is guilty of is having sexual intercourse with a person under the legal age of consent.

Wouldn't say its mass hysteria. Seems to have died down somewhat. Maybe some injection of common sense coming into play

"Everyone is trying to back this movement, mainly out of fear... I think it's total hypocrisy."

Definitely plenty of that, especially in your industry.

Alittle known fact: Before he became famous as a movie star, Bruce Lee gave Polanski kung fu lessons. Polanski once flew Lee to some European country (sweden I think) and Lee attended a party polanski threw for movie stars and entertainment moguls. There were 14 year old girls in attendance sitting on laps and being fondled.

Lee was disgusted and told a friend the people there were 'utterly without morals'.

Have you ever had to deal with a victim of sexual assault? Do you know how difficult it is to get the courage to come forward, precisely when you are dismissed/ridiculed for doing so?

It's taken this mass movement to ensure that victims can finally take that step.

The real tragedy is that it took the Academy 40 years to throw this ped out. Disgusting how he was coddled and accepted and seen as some kind of martyr for his art. Just a dirty rapist with a taste for little girls. The victim was 13 years old at the time of her rape by Polanski. 13 years old. Not even close to being able to give consent, especially after having been fed drugs and alcohol. He's a pig.

He would say that, wouldn't he?

Attila, its not that the 'Academy' suddenly woke up aftet 40 years, its that theyre hollywood/entertainment amoral hypocrites. While it was cool for polanski to be a martyr they were right behind him with support. Now that the winds changed theyre condemning him. Theyre as despicable as he is.

whoopi Goldberg was vigorously defending Roman Polanski in 2009 when the subject came up. It was cool then. Ibet shes changed her tune now to fit with the current climate.
