Popular comedian Gekidan Hitori and TV personality Akane Osawa married Tuesday and expressed their joy. ''Today I became a couple with the man I love best in the world,'' a beaming Osawa, 23, told reporters, while a bashful Gekidan Hitori, 32, confessed he failed to exercise his wit as a comedian when proposing to her, saying, ''I simply said 'Let's get married,' even though it was a cliche.''
They registered their marriage early Tuesday morning, they said. Gekidan Hitori, a stage name which means a one-man troupe, also acts in films and has written a best-selling book. Osawa's grandfather is Keiji Osawa, an outspoken former professional baseball player who was once manager of the Nippon Ham Fighters.© Japan Today
