Arashi to become goodwill ambassadors to China

What next ???.does anyone in Arashi speaks the Chinese and English language ???.

This is a little late. I remember walking down side streets of Shanghai about 15 years ago, and seeing many many magazines with SMAP on the front cover. Could have started then.

I object to my taxes being used to pay an entertainment production company.

I guess this means that the members must stay silent about the abuses China commits. But then, they're used to that.

I am sure this will be a good move. Shows the maturity of even Japanese pop-stars. Can you imagine NSYNC or Take That being given similar roles? Maybe we should see if we can get them signed up as goodwill ambassadors, too. I remember that Geri Haliwell from the Spice Girls did actually become a UN goodwill ambassador in 1998 and went on to do quite a few meaningful charity related projects for them. I don't think anything bad can come from this. Good luck Arashi.

Aloha. I applaud Prime Minister Abe's appointment of Arashi as Japan's Goodwill Ambassador to China because from my perspective as a foreigner, I feel that having a popular musical group is a proper acknowledgement of the influence of "pop" culture on International Relations. Living in Honolulu, Hawaii, I have seen many Japanese Popular Culture Groups visit throughout my almost 60 of life from a variety of musical genres and have seen the positive reaction by those living in Hawaii, both local residents as well as visitors.
