Roll over, Beethoven! This album ought to B. Goode! The Beatles, Elvis, Van Halen, Motown and countless others owe so much to this legend. - “Rest In Peace” to a master showman, Chuck Berry. You are missed.

Often overlooked, Chuck’s cousin Marvin was an adequate guitarist with this band the Starlighters. He once injured his hand but not his unearthly, angelic voice. An uncredited, one-time-only, lead guitar replacement is rumored to be the source of Chuck Berry’s signature sound and guitar riffs. If only we could go back in time to learn the ‘truth’ of this perhaps, modern myth?

Bon Jovi paid tribute to Chuck on the day he died (I was at that show). (Jeff Lynne's) ELO ended their set in 2019 show I went to with 'Roll Over Beethoven' with that iconic ELO starship on a video screen morphing into a spinning 45. Let's not forget the debt the Stones owe to Chuck.
Long lines were at his body viewing in the funeral home. All kind of rock'n'rollers were in line - long hairs, skinheads, dreads, afros, spikes, mohawks, you name it. They were white, black, Arabic, India, Oriental Asian, Hispanic, Filipino, all. Rockers of every culture, every tongue. Rockabilly, jazz-rock, Americana, heavy metal, reggae, punk rock, psychedelic, folk rock, country rock/Southern rock, blues-rock, everything.
Chuck Berry was the foundation.
