Prince was a genius when it came to music. He has already gone down in recent history as one of the best creative minds and was an amazing guitarist. He is missed by millions of people to include me. I will listen to his music and look forward to his newly released music as soon as possible. Thank you Prince. In the Purple Rain.

Speaking of ‘hate just for hate’s sake’ being ‘ a waste of time ’, “I Hate You” is one of Prince’s best songs from 1995’s “The Gold Experience”.

Yes. I've noticed that this time the estate has decided to release a whole new Prince album and not just stuff that you heard before in various forms before or songs he wrote that other artists covered. Songs that we haven't heard before, an album completed in 2010 but shelved. Straight from the vaults. I just won 10% off by spinning the wheel of fortune on his website so I'll probably apply it to this CD. 'New' music for a change and I'm glad.

You should get a Covid test done as one of the symptoms is lack of taste :-)

Harry_Gatto - big thumbs up. Not only was he a musical genius, he was a wonderful human.

I heard he was very well-liked by the people in his local area. A very nice fella by all accounts.

I wish I could play guitar to a fraction of the level he could play it along with his ability to play bass, drums, keyboards etc.

The dude was quite talented on the basketball court too. Just ask Charlie Murphy. . .

If you’ve never seen his live performance of “while by guitar gently weeps” at the Rock n roll hall of fame, I cannot recommend it enough. Probably the most underrated guitarist in rock history.

While it's easy to categorize Prince as being a 'soul' or 'funk' star the truth of the matter is, he did a bit of everything in music. His influence and impact is tremendous - in writing, recording, production, playing. He explored, experimented, performed in the realms of hard rock, gospel, rockabilly, punk rock, heavy metal, jazz fusion, folk rock, dance, hip-hop/rap, even classical. He did something for practically anyone, of anybody's taste. But whatever he did he did it with a very strong psychedelic edge to it. And maybe that's why in my hometown every single station on the FM dial of every format played Prince exclusively for the rest of the week that he died. He was one of the greatest rock stars not just of the 80s, not just of my Generation X, not just of the 20th century, but of all time.

And on top of that, 2016 was a very ugly year altogether, and not just in music either. Socially, politically, culturally, and personally for me as well. And just look at the world events of the past 5 years to get a better grip of what I mean.

Depends on who you’re asking, there many, many musicians that thought he was a jerk of highest order. Never talked to the guy, don’t have an opinion personally, but from the artists I worked with, I definitely believe them, but he once visited our studio for working on a project with another artist, didn’t have time to interact with the guy, but I was astounded at how tiny the man was as far as his stature was.

I wish I could play guitar to a fraction of the level he could play it along with his ability to play bass, drums, keyboards etc.

On the Bass guitar he was so, so, but definitely had some serious keys and guitar chops, can’t argue with that.

That is definitely debatable, not taking anything from the guy and he definitely was good and talented as a musician, but the best? That’s a bit more subjective.
