PUFFY's Yoshimura marries just months after break-up

Yumi Yoshimura, 34, of J-pop duo PUFFY, announced on her blog last weekend that she had gotten married to a 29-year-old businessman, and registered the marriage on New Year's Eve.

Word on the street is the pair have been friends for seven years, and started seeing each other as boyfriend and girlfriend in September last year, straight after Yoshimura moved out of the Tokyo home she was living in with actor Nao Omori, 37. Yoshimura and Omori were reportedly close to marrying and had made a wedding reservation at a Tokyo shrine, but it was not to be.

Yoshimura wrote that she was not pregnant and that as they were both busy with work, there were no plans for a wedding ceremony or a honeymoon.

Yoshimura was married to singer Takanori Nishikawa, 39, for a little over three years until their divorce in July 2002.

"Yoshimura wrote that she was not pregnant" Good for her but makes me laugh that people have to clarify this when they get married. =)

2, almost 3, weddings... not bad. Well on yer way. Hope this one lasts. Actually I don't even care one way or another.

When Puffy first got big 15 years ago or so their thing was pretending like they were lesbians. Actually their music is pretty good considering they are Japanese.

I wonder which one is more desperate? The guy or Yoshimura.

They were friends seven years started dating 3 1/2 months ago. Now married. Was he one of those guys who liked her for a longtime and accidentally fell into the dreaded "FRIEND ZONE?" Sounds like a rebound marriage to me.

I have friend who was divorced 6 months ago. The first thing she said was she has to get married again. That has been on her mind ever since. A woman's value in Japan is determined by whether or not she is married. Very sad indeed.

Hottie? Argh. She looks like an eccentric old biddy.

probably did it to placate the parents on both sides

Break up marrage, she's desperate or was cheating.

Wow..that's fast! And its a common story for Japan, of course.

My wife was pregnant when we got married, but she sure won't be when we finalize the divorce. Why is she jumping in so fast, unless the dude was the cause of her first breakup?

PUFFY make great tunes, even though she is a bit daft.

Because she is getting old and desperate...

goddog probably hit the nail on the head.. the divorce was because the husband figured she was messing around with this guy...

Well if she was messing around on the last guy with her current husband, it won't last long. Her first marriage ended because she cheated on him.

Yoshimura wrote that she was not pregnant

nothing is true until it has been officially denied

"Rebound marriage", great term! It's so casual nowadays, sigh.. Why even go through the financial/legal/social troubles if divorce is a large possibility? Is being married that much better than a bf/gf relationship??

If parental approval was the main motivating factor behind this marriage, then mom and dad must have caused Yoshimura a lot of unhappiness throughout her life, trying to please them.

"she is a hottie!"

"She looks like an eccentric old biddy."

Ha ha ha, who's right? Or is she somewhere in between "hottie" and "eccentric old biddy"?

Jeez, once you get married you have to start combing your hair!
