No surprise there, they've been buddies for quite some time, though I don't understand why

I remember Seagal house in northern California selling for a fairly low figure...like 1.25 million, or so. But it had about twenty acres. Imagine having a twenty acre spread in L.A. or San Francisco.....

Seagal is a POS.

I can't see Segal befriending Obama!

So, after a career of decades presenting himself as imaginary indefatigable retired secret US-trained via Japan glimmer man with reality show as celebrity cop down near the bayou to boot, Seagal ends up as new BFF of Vlad the Shirtless on the other side of the the new west-east curtain.

Go figure!

Wow what a great acquisition! The kind of 'high profile', quality actor most countries probably dream of poaching.

Hoo boy, that is either a world class beer belly or Steve-o really overindulged on the carrot cake at the last dictator's villa. Wonder if I should look on IMDB to see if I recognize any of his movies.

I'll bet Seagal is behind all these WikiLeaks emails.

Serano at Nov. 04, 2016 - 11:54AM JST I'll bet Seagal is behind all these WikiLeaks emails. ... ... Yes, maybe. I'd say he's getting close to 400 lbs, but Depardieu is already there. In actuality.

Donald Trump used to praise Putin as strong leader. He has never criticized about Crimea annexation. He should be rewarded as Russian citizen with Russian passport.

He may be first POTUS with dual citenship.

400 lbs? Open an exhibit at the Moscow Zoo. The sign will read Black Tufted Carrot Muncher. He'll dance on a ball in exchange for snack food, or repeat simple words. Should be a hit with all the lil' babushkas.

The irony now is that the USA places far more restrictions on people wishing to give up their US citizenship than Russia does. And yet, they still claim that the US is the free country?

What sort of restrictions are there if you want to renounce your citizenship? You just file some paperwork and it's done. Some very wealthy (and greedy?) people do it for tax reasons. Pretty sure Segal didn't give up his US citizenship here.

And pay a pretty hefty fee:

The U.S. was criticized for hiking its fee to renounce by 422%, from $450 to $2,350. The U.S. State Department said raising the fee from $450 to $2,350 for renunciation of U.S. citizenship was about demand and paperwork. Perhaps, but American expatriations grew rather than declined. And the $2,350 fee is more than twenty times the average level in other high-income countries.

Greedy would be if they wanted to maintain their citizenship and not pay taxes. Relinquishing citizenship is not the same thing.

Putin getting desperate to make friends one way or another....

Huge fees, attachment of more huge back taxes, and a 2 year waiting list. People who are struggling to support their families have to renounce because of the onerous burden that the USA (unique among nations) places on anyone who has ever lived there. No other citizenship in the world carries such a burden.

This farce sums up Russia's quality perfectly. If Trump wins tomorrow, I assume he'll give Vlad and half the Kremlin citizenship as well
