Back in the day ('79 or '80), some talking head on the radio commented that Streisand had the purest singing voice ever recorded

I would go with Karen Carpenter or Whitney Houston.

Back in the day ('79 or '80), some talking head on the radio commented that Streisand had the purest singing voice ever recorded. I was in the navy at the time as a sonar tech and we had our calibration oscilloscope tied into our radio for visuals. Whatever song she had out at the time came on the radio and I looked over at the o-scope. Clean sine waves for 80% or so of the song. (Clean sine waves are easy for signal generators, but practically impossible for humans).

If Obama piped Barbara Streisand into Syria at high volume I would bet my house he could get Assad to surrender without dropping a single bomb or ordering a single pair of boots on the ground.

She was great in her movies that were hits because she was starring.

She is my favorite female singer and actress. I have her records, tapes and CD. I love her songs, voice and old movies.
