"In a recent interview with GQ magazine, he said he had 22 girlfriends around the world, spoke 26 languages and had undergone a cutting-edge treatment in Sweden to help him live to 110."

looks like old quincys marbles are going, both legends though.

Quincy is probably just jealous but I read many years ago about Greg Phillinganes and Rod Temperton doing a lot of the work on Off the Wall.

Nothing new, really. Pop music is all about recycling.

My dear friend David Williams RIP rhythm guitarist for MJ 30+ years told me many stories of their composing songs together he was never credited - welcome to show biz.

Perhaps, I have hearing problem because I found nothing similarities between Billy Jean and State Of Independence.

He should have updated his brain together with cutting - edge treatment in Sweden. Michael had had a problem with Plastic surgery and also he has problem too.

"I hate to get into this publicly, but..."

Then don't - you old, bitter, jealous, has-been.

State of Independence is a Jon and Vangelis song, which Donna Summer covered.

Quincy might have a stronger case that Billie Jean uses the I Can't Go For That bassline, but that one has a different rhythm with a stutter rest in it. Its more "inspired by" than "copy" territory.

From the acapellas on Youtube, it is obvious that MJ was an incredible singer, so I think it's a shame that his producer, err, Quincy Jones, could not stop him overdoing it with all the "Oohs" and "Shamones" . He was an easily good enough singer to not need gimmicky trademarks.
