R&B singer AI, 27, wore bondage-style attire and a red dress among five other outfits at her concert at the NHK Hall in Shibuya this week, kicking off her national tour which will see her do 40 shows in 37 locations.

AI sang 29 songs before a crowd of 3,400 fans, with most of the songs coming from her new album “VIVA A.I.,” including her hit song “Story.” She also sang “Departures,” which was used as the theme song for the Academy Award-winning film of the same name.

“I’m going to surprise everyone this tour. I don’t usually wear this kind of stuff!” she said.

The tour, which runs through July, is the biggest yet for AI and is expected to attract about 80,000 fans.

I agree with all three of you previous posters, otherwise I don't understand what the article ws all about, and why.

Wow, what an original outfit -- short-shorts, fishnet hose and knee-high boots. Bet you can't see 10,000 other J-gals dressed the exact same tomorrow in Tokyo.

They meant that she had bondage gear. All of her staff were padlocked together on the side of the stage.

She actually has a pretty good voice. Much better than the average idol, that's for sure. She can also speak English well, having lived in LA.

Just out of curiosity, WHY IS HER NAME IN CAPITAL LETTERS? Is she better or MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVERYBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD?

She's NOT dressed in bondage; she looks more like a sexy ringmaster in a circus.
