If everyone could just mind their own sexuality and business, that would be nice.

The problem is, when two heterosexual people are holding hands and maybe share a kiss in public while on a walk, no one notices. If two same-sex people do that, the homophobes ask why they have to make their sexuality other people's business.

So I'd reply to your comment that if everyone could apply the same standard regardless of sexuality, that would be nice.

I got to disagree. I don't want anyone applying standards to anyone at all. That flies in the face of people simply mind their own business. Minding their own business is really all people need to concentrate on. In fact we need laws to make people mind their own business. We should not even know about the rumor or truth that she slept with a director. Its simply not anyone's business. And if anyone has an issue with hand holding between two women, their immediate thought should be "Its not my business.".

It is other people's business. An actor/actress should get good acting roles due to merit and laying with a director is not a meritorious way to 'climb up to the top'.

Um, and yet you are applying standards to people:

If everyone could just mind their own sexuality and business, that would be nice.

Sort yourself out mate, you're all over the place.

Most people don't care about her sexuality. The problem is her expressionless face. Can't act. Maybe as an android, perhaps?

She is forgetting about sleeping with the married director back in 2012 which led to her breaking up with the Twilight guy and she hasn't been in any big movies since. There are many gay/Bi actors and actresses that have been fine career-wise since 2012.

Still plenty of actors (male and female) hiding their true selves. Which is fine, I guess, unless they are hypocritical about it and/or hide behind a belief system.

Top actors don't earn fortunes because of their acting skills. They would earn a lot less if that was all it came down to.

They become wealthy because they are selling an image of themselves to the public. That image rarely matches up with the actual person behind it, so they have to keep their private lives private if they want to maintain the illusion and keep earning the big bucks.

I am not familiar with this actress, but it's quite possible that her fan base is centered around people who might not like her as she really is. So the holding hands thing is just career advice. She is free to take it or leave it.
