Film critic’s ‘just a little insensitive’ - “ *It's a scheme destined to run afoul and turn into ruins that you can almost hear Hong Kong pleading, “Please, no.” - *Jake Coyle, Film writer and critic AP 2021.
That line is no where in the movie. What were you thinking?? Don’t you read the news?
He’s just ‘striking a chord’ to make a name for himself. (Hopefully, a bad one.)

We think you called it! @Stev ( Jan. 29 11:42a JST )
SPOILERS: - “'*One will fall'...it’s sort of giving away the outcome..When Kong found out it was MechaG he was battling, in comes the real G and ogether they team up to defeat the MechG created by evil human. Thus, “One will fall” - MechaG. (It’s just a theory)*.” -
From the above review: - “When Godzilla makes a seemingly, unprompted attack on a high-tech cybernetics company ruled by a melomaniac tech CEO.” -

The Japanese do a much better job at this. Maybe they do it in a more campy way but it's fun. Hollyweird mucks up everything anymore.

I hope the gorilla and the dinosaur punch each other very hard.

Man oh man what a crappy load of "writing" that was, just nasty!
Oh and from a herp enthusiast please learn the difference between reptile & amphibian...... I wont get into the rest of the writers crap that follows the above!

Granted, the old Japanese movies were great fun, but Shin Godzilla? Utter tosh; Took itself way too seriously, and most of the movie was faux techno-babble that even my Japanese friends couldn't make head nor tail of.
King of the monsters wasn't half bad, best not to mention Roland Emmerich...
bass4funk
That would depend on the individual, if you like the cheesy nostalgic Japanese Godzilla we all know and grew up with, sure, but if you want more realism, structure, then you are a fan of the new ones which are creating a strong fan base and sticking to Godzilla’s roots minus the cheesy parts. Remember, Toho wouldn’t agree to have the US take some control if they thought they were going to muck it up, unlike Emmerich who did that God awful Godzilla and just completely destroyed it. Don’t think he would ever get that chance again. It was the worst. But as far as this movie, definitely looking forward.

There's only so much you can do in a rubber suit with wires.

... is it just me or King Kong was supposed to be a lot smaller than Godzilla ... ; poor Gojira keeps shrinking ...
gotta give “team USA” a little “help”...
lmao

Too much information
snowymountainhell
Agreed with most everyone here. We’ll watch it despite, the poor writing & ‘inaccuracy’ of the review by Jake Coyle, ‘ladies & gentlemen’ - Film writer(?) and critic, Associated Press.
Hilarious @GW 3:51p:
Sitting through ‘ShinGojira” was like watching the Diet meeting for 3 hours on NHK @0rei0 3:57p.
Really? @bass4funk 7:48p. You forgot to warn us with “SPOILERS: )”
@rcch Jan 29 1:19p. You ‘called it’, too for all the sci-fi/fantasy ‘haters’.
Conclusion: Don’t like the genre, don’t watch it.
Toasted Heretic
He's grown a bit since Skull Island, which was set 50 years ago.

Just seen it- I wont give any spoilers or a pre-empting review, except to say it's certainly a very different kettle of fish (or titans) to the first two in this series.
Anybody else?
snowymountainhell
On the ‘seven seas’, streaming, standard cinema or IMAX ? @0rei0 9:47p.
Jimizo
Poor stance from Kong throwing a right in that shot. Leaving himself too open to a counter.
snowymountainhell
Yes, @Jimizo 9:52p and G’s about to give him ‘a whiff’ of the “blue light special”.
Of course, @ToastedH 8:40p will say,
This final cut is much different from what previewed Jan. 29. Is it worth seeing on IMAX?
0rei0
Enjoyed the IMAX days, Saw a lot of Nolan's work in IMAX, and the cinematography made it worth it.
Those days are gone for me, I believe.
This one? HD with a cup o'tea was just fine, methinks, me hearties. Besides, you'd have to wait until mid-May in Japan; HW Godzilla scuppered, once again.
starpunk
The 1998 Hollywood 'Godzilla' is a disgrace that should never be seen by anyone ever again. When the Japanese 1999 movie later released in the US as 'Godzilla 2000' came out, it more than redeemed that late 90s HW piece of crud. That was more like it. All that was missing was that Blue Oyster Cult song.

For those who saw it: did the dinosaur and the monke punch each other very hard?
