De Nero hasn't punched Trump in the face yet. I wish he would though.

Good to see DeNiro is smart enough to realize what's happening and to speak out about it.

If I was to be unkind; I might say the same about his career. When was the last decent DeNiro flick? Heat?
But yeah, I undestand his sentiment here. One only has to listen to PotUS using words like "losers" and his followers spouting "looney left" and/or "crybabies". Where did intelligent discourse go?

Silver Linings Playbook. Pretty good film, including IMO his performance. He's 73--it's not like Hollywood is chock full of great parts for the elderly, male or female. Pacino last 20 years isn't much better. They're appearing together in a Scorsese film next year though.

Completely forgot about that. Tbf; it's more of a cameo than a major role but yes, I concur. David O' Russell is one of my favorite directors alongside PT Anderson.
I must admit, I watched The Family couple of months back and did manage a chuckle here and there. Especially when DeNiro's character is asked to do a film talk. No spoilers!

I thought the title was talking about Robert DeNiro's career as well. Well, at least he falls into the character we all know and like. Bruce Willis can't even be bothered to do that these days.

"Once inspiring" - that was many many terms ago. The comedy just got bigger with this one. That's all.

Tragic -- i.e. mass shootings and other violence, along with corrupt government and corporations
Dumbass -- i.e. the populace are incredibly uninformed, only concerned about what's on TV
Comedy -- i.e. all there is left to do is laugh at the ineptness all around you.

When I was younger, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull were the greatest collaborations DeNiro had with Scorsese. Maybe Mean Streets. And plenty of other DeNiro projects.
Then, I guess I was around, 20 or so, I saw King of Comedy.
He hasn't surpassed that. Neither had Scorsese.
If you haven't seen it, check it out.

A rather broad generalization and suggests that the majority of Americans weren't paying attention in 2016. People keep forgetting this, and it must be confusing to a lot of foreign observers, but the Donald did not win the election. HRC tallied 3 million + more votes than the Donald. The majority of Americans did not want him to be president. He got in on what amounts to a technicality. The EC is archaic, anti-democratic and should have been eliminated more than 100 years ago. It has now saddled the U.S. with the two worst presidents in its history.

You seem to be the one who is confused about how Presidential elections are conducted in the U.S.A.. Trump won according to the long existing election rules. Also, according to the long existing rules, Hillary lost her 2nd attempt to become POTUS.
73 year old De Niro also seems to be confused.

Considering De Niro hasn't produced that many great films over his career he must be talking about himself
