The decades of drug abuse have destroyed his brain. In the words of Lynryd Skynyrd, "I hope Neil Young will remember, us Southern men don't need him around anyhow..."

the clarity of his open letter to trump would belie your critique of his brain. if his words seem like a destroyed brain on drugs, then give me some of what he has taken.

Neil Young's words resound like the Liberty Bell confirming his bona fides as a patriotic American citizen and condemning brain-numbing Trumpism and "the damage done".

I think Herve might be right. Endorsing Bernie Sanders doesn't exactly support the theory of clear thought.

Ol' Neil has made some great music, though.

At least he has a brain to have been affected by your false accusation of "decades of drug use". As fot those Southern men, of course that would be the white, racist self-desccribed Evangelical Christians southern men who have completely and absolutely denied their claimed Christian values by supoorting the lying, cheating, draft dodging, multiple failed business mob boss, His Royal Assness, Lord Trump. You may want to try some of those drugs to reopen your mind to reality instead of the reality TV fantasy world Trump wants you to believe in.

The leftist Dems always have the most useless people for heros and cheerleaders. Whats this guy ever done for anybody?

Interestingly, the Dem debates are getting more lively with their backstabbing and internal conflicts. the party doesnt seem about love and inclusion to me; seems more about hate and greed.

Enjoying the show.

Rock on, Neil!!!

Old man with a good message.

Still telling it like it is. Fair play to you, Mr Young.

So the first thing on Neil Young's list to do after becoming a US citizen is criticize his president?

Why not? It's a form of patriotism, being concerned about your adopted country.

Oh my! He wants a better future and corporations to care more about the environment - and makes the news.

I'd say he's done dam sight more for humanity than you ever have, or will. Oh, and that's not even counting his art...

Eloquent, accurate and patriotic. No wonder his music rocks.

Dumbo Donnie is the one that desperately needs to retire.

He will, in 2024. ;)

IMO, Trump is a disgrace to the human race.

I read Ole Neil's little diatribe noting the laundry list of fact-free comments. Indeed, his screed is even more evidence that his mind has been destroyed by decades of drug abuse.

I see, so to be concerned about the environment (including the environment of the US) is to be accused of being mindless or a drug abuser.

Why do the far right hate the US so much, that they'd actively support its environmental destruction?

Hervé L'EisaToday 02:37 pm JSTI read Ole Neil's little diatribe noting the laundry list of fact-free comments.

i don't get it. neil young doesn't put down anyone in his post besides trump. he actually says he's got every voter's back even the ones that voted for someone who lied/lies to them. so why do you take it as a personal insult and denigrate someone you don't actually know? it really is a poor reflection on what kind of person you are. just say you disagree with his opinions and  have wholly bought into the cult of trump.

The old socialist dimwit hasn't the slightest inkling of what AMERICAN PATRIOTISM is. Ole Neil is a numbskull.

No matter how many times such comments are posted, they still don't make sense and merely highlight that some don't understand the concepts they shout loudest about.

Patriotism is about being concerned about one's country, which Mr Young clearly is. There's more to patriotism than supporting a PotUS. Donald Trump is not America. America is so much more than one man. America is about speaking out against tyranny (that includes domestic) and injustice.

The most patriotic thing a citizen can do is to question the government.

The government is there to serve its people, not the other way round.

If your leaders are actively poisoning the land and rivers, if they are covering up criminal acts, if they are putting themselves against the health of the nation - they must be held up to rigorous checks and yes, they must be questioned and criticized.

Good on Neil Young.

Sure, racist , bigots and misogynists are the ones who know what patriotism is all about.

'Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel ', never sounded truer!

THE Neil Young said that? Who gives a ...

-7 ( +1 / -8 )

"mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment and our relationships with friends around the world..."

I think Neil is wrong about this. I think its all very mindful and very evil. We MUST NOT be generous or kind to Trump and his ilk. They, at the top anyway, know the destruction they cause and they see profit in it. They love your belief that its ignorance, stupidity and accident and we all need to stop allowing them such CYA. Its only the low run followers who are so dim, but not even all of them. Some also see the destruction, and simply love it.

Those Southern states are poor. Have you checked the poverty rate of these Trump states? They are at the low end. Especially Mississippi. We don't need Mississippi either and wish they would just fall of the map which would be better for the rest of the country.

I just checked my investments. I'm very happy with our President. Go Trump!!

Enough that Trump wants to use Neil Young's music in his rallies

Young voiced disdain for Trump's use of the classic hit "Rockin' in the Free World" at his rallies, which the artist has asked him to stop while acknowledging that he can't actually prevent the song's use.

Better put ALL your money in the Trump stock market. Otherwise you will miss out. Got cash savings? Better put it in 100% Trump stock. Otherwise you are losing money.
