I remember him popping up in Woody Allen's Bananas. Before that, he did a lot of popping up in certain adult orientated movies, too.
The last decent pictures I saw him in were Copland and Cliffhanger. Couldn't stand those ridiculous Rambo vehicles, although the first one was passable.
He's quite the art collector, as well, and possesses a degree of intellect, so I'm told by those who know the man.

Rambo 1 and 2, Demolition Man, all the Rocky Films, Cliffhanger, Assassin's all great films.

The actor and filmmaker was given a rapturous welcome as he arrived for Friday's event, and greeted crowds with "Yo."
Well that is pretty much the extent of his vocabulary.

If you check on IMDB.com or wiki he wrote and directed many films. Not just Rocky, he is quite intelligent for doing that. A lot of Hollywood actors are just drones to their script

Pretty good for a guy who got his start in soft porn.

He knows what he's doing, and much smarted than people give him credit for. Copland is a good example. Excellent movie, well acted, with Harvey Keitel, Robert DeNiro, Ray Liotta and more turning in great performances... and not much press. Aside from Rocky, Rambo and action flicks he gets ignored, Which is unjust. The comments on soft porn sound a bit like jealousy - why bring it up otherwise?

But the film "The Party at Kitty's and Stud's" is just that, a soft core porno movie starring the Italian Stallion.
Who cares?! I still think Stallone is a fine actor and I have nothing but respect for him. It's just interesting, that's all. There's nothing wrong with the route to stardom Stallone chose.

Im guessing n the 70s when Stallone and Schwartznegger started out, must of been tough. Due to the economic climate during te 70s and action films back then were not like thet re from the 80s on-wards. Schwartznegger even states that in his own biography book: https://www.amazon.co.jp/Total-Recall-Arnold-Schwarzenegger/dp/1849839735/ref=sr_1_11?__mk_ja_JP=%E3%82%AB%E3%82%BF%E3%82%AB%E3%83%8A&keywords=arnold+schwarzenegger&qid=1559020295&s=gateway&sr=8-11-spell

As long as the man can look at himself in the mirror at the end of the day and know that his body of work gave people varying levels of happiness, excitement, etc - good for him.

@Kenji Fujimori
And my hat goes off to both of them.
Hell, I'd have done the same thing if I had been in their shoes at that time in my acting career. Besides, soft porno from the 70s would probably be PG-13 today, so it's no biggie.

Forgot to mention other classics he did,

Yes,Sylvester Stallone was action movie superstar then a actor.
Ganbare Japan!
I like Stallone. His Rambo movies were wonderful. However my favorite Stallone movie is Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot. It is hilarious.

I met Stallone a few times. One of my old work colleagues - his dad was Stallone's bodyguard.

You forgot Adrian. Yo, Adrian!
This movie looks pretty violent. Parental discretion advised for kids under 21.

I enjoyed Demolition Man but was disappointed with his portrayal of Judge Dredd. Especially when he took the helmet off. Dredd is more Dirty Harry meets Mad Max, I think the film suffered from messing around with the source material.
If the makers had concentrated on the 70s saga - The Day the Law Died - in which the mad Chief Judge Cal builds a huge wall around Mega City One to keep out mutants - this would have been a better vehicle for Sly. And also, foreshadowing certain events in the real world...

BTW, if you're a fan of the movie "Rambo", then you should all read the book "Rambo" by David Morrell.
The book is so much better than the film.
