What they mean is cashing in before they become irrelevant and worthless.

It will become what the Japanese Rolling Stone already is: a men's fashion magazine with fluff pieces about Japanese "musicians." Or that's what it was when I last looked at it a few years ago.

Every so often I purchase an issue just to see how it's faring. Occasionally; it's a damn good read but yeah, sadly, it's probably had its day. Much like NME or Hot Press (though not as influential as RS, those magazines were once essential).

Had its time and place but thats now long gone, apt to have McCartney on the cover at this time.

Still cant get past the 60's, and as far gone left in it's politics as HuffPost.
It hasn't been relevant since perhaps the early 80s. Good riddence.
