I'd like it if someone were to release it here. After all the brouhaha, I want to make my own mind up about the picture. But someone's decided it's not suitable to be shown in japan. Thanks Sony.

First, they need to donate TV sets. But evening lanterns can not be used for connecting TV Is it legal in NK to watch TV?

I don't think it's good idea. If someone was caught with that DVD and then dictator Kim Jong-un will send the whole family and neighbors to Labor camp. Please, don't do that.

That film will probably want North Koreans to stay North Koreans, the Film is a distaster, it makes Americans look like they all hate North Koreans and The Korean Army Woman sounded like she was from Thailand who looked Chinese, Hahahahahaha

Ahahaha-- he said, "reel projectors!" -Classic.

VHS might still be state of the art there.

Maybe reel to reel projectors?

Instead of sending copies of this carptacular film, I agree that it would be better invested in making a documentary focusing on the comparison between the living standards of SK and those from NK that escaped to SK as well as some exposure to the outside world in democratic countries and Kim's tripe.

They should also throw in Team America as a bonus.

"The North has already warned that Park will “pay for his crimes in blood” if copies of the film make it across the border."

The movie is that bad.

Why not go the whole hog and also send the folk responsible for this cinematic masterpiece? Then again, Pyongyang would probably send them right back....

I would think the 10,000 copies would be saved to mini USB drives or Micro SD cards

Haven't the North Koreans suffered enough?

After all the trouble that NK caused Sony

You mean that trouble that turned a picture with a low profile into one that made Sony a lot of money in the end?

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

It's not a given that NK were behind Sony's troubles.

And if they weren't, then the whole NK thing turned out to be a windfall for sales of a mediocre movie.

After all the trouble that NK caused Sony, I doubt that Sony cares at all if these 10,000 copies are all bootlegs.

South Korea isn't exactly looking all that democratic and free these days.

Why the heck would they want to send a crappy Hollywood picture to North Korea? Makes no sense.

What a waste of effort that could be used far more constructively.

10,000 copyright licences will cost a fair whack.

Good point toshiko. Don't they use charcoal to stay warm? Thank god we live in prosperity and have central heating-air.

Does NK have electricity hooked to 10,000 home now?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I'm sorry, but the news cycle has already moved on, and this is no longer a story (not that it should ever have been a story). Please move on.

Does the average North Korean even know what a DVD is? VHS might still be state of the art there.

10,000 copies??? ...I hope none of them are pirated copies.

But seriously, even though Park says he is prepared to die for this cause, does he realize that he is risking the lives of other poeple too?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Got any special "limited edition blu-ray" copies specifically for the top senior officials?
