Sakura Uehara says she has remarried

Once-divorced actress Sakura Uehara, 34, announced on her blog this week that she remarried in mid-June. Her 38-year-old husband works at a land leasing company, she said.

Uehara said the couple registered their marriage in early April, but held off on the ceremony because they felt it was too close to the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami disaster. The ceremony was held in Guam.

“I want to thank my parents, friends and all those who have encouraged me on my 34-year journey in life. I've never been so happy,” Uehara said.

She had been married once from early 2008 to late 2009 to the president of an apparel company, but divorced him after he assaulted a magazine cameraman.

Uehara also said that since children are out of the question for the time being, she will continue working.
