Some really big changes happening in Saudi recently. Long overdue and sensible. Hope there isn't a backlash. Good for everyone.

Such devout fans. Black Panther cosplay......oh wait.

Blockbuster action flick "Black Panther" will play at a cinema test screening in Saudi Arabia Wednesday

So, before or after the head chopping executions?

Disgusting this country/government is given ANY legitimacy.

I agree that a lot of their barbaric practices get glossed over and ignored, but change has to start somewhere, so I'm still viewing this as a good thing.

Looks like a ninja convention!

Nice sentiment, but how do they get a pass for their murdering of women and children in Yemen while also partially funding the head choppers in Syria, but Assad is painted the bad guy?

This puff piece about Saudi Arabia is about much more than a Hollywood flick. It's an attempt to legitimize the country in the eyes of the world while ignoring the fact that they are one of the worst nations in the world.

Ok, lets just bomb them instead. Would that make you feel better?

Personally I'd rather see a nation with problems get it's act together. If that has to start with letting women drive and allowing people to go to movie theaters, so be it. But maybe that's just me.

Well that escalated fast. LOL

Never said anything about bombing them. Just wanted to point out the MSM hypocrisy of how Saudi Arabia is treated in the press (at war with another country hardly ever covered) vs Syria (defending its country from a civil war and covert/overt attacks from other nations).

looks like a fun crowd.

I haven't seen a movie in "widescreen" in years.

@extanker... legitimizing a capital enterprise hardly seem worth 'being for' in this context. Bars were fined and owners jailed for allowing 'fight club' nights. Interesting, once money is interested... years later, that money changes judicial and sensible morality. Official Sponsorship brings the exact same barbaric fights on cable. This is hardly about joining the 21st century. It's blood money.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Fight clubs? This article is about legalizing movie theaters...

Good to give it's youth something to do, somewhere to go. Boredom breeds extremism.
