Sawajiri's mother says Erika apologized to ex-husband's parents for divorce

The mother of actress Erika Sawajiri, 24, says her daughter recently visited the parents of her ex-husband, media producer Tsuyoshi Takashiro, 46, to apologize for the divorce.

Sawajiri has kept out of sight for the past few weeks. Her mother Lila told reporters outside their home in Tokyo that it was very difficult for her daughter to go through an extremely public divorce and criticized the intense media interest in her every move since.

She said that Erika and her older brother had visited Takashiro's parents last Thursday. "She felt that she should apologize about the marriage failing and give her side of the story to them rather than just let them read whatever the media reported," Lila said.

Erika can change her mind then. She knows her true feeling and a farsighted reason then. She follows her culture routine to keep her fans on her sides.

It should be the other way round. That 46 yr old scoundrel should apologize to Sawajiri's mother for cradle snatching !!

Erika can resume her film and singing careers on track. Her new public image will be accepted with more positive responses from Japan. Her ex-husband is somehow blamed for his manner and other issues as a irresponsible husband.

This family has to expose every bit of their lives to the media. Many celebs are attention o's, but few go as far as sending their Mum to tell about their ex-in-laws... Record beaten.

I'm still waiting for my apology for being forced to put up with all this ridiculous news coverage ....

@KansaiTruth: Don't read it then. You CAN choose which links to click on.

Lila is not really a typical Japanese name? Ahhh Sawajiri. The Britney Spears of Japan. Not a charming picture of her here JT, why not one of her on the catwalk a few months back. ^^

she is not hot enough to be this high maintenance.

It sounds like the apology was just an excuse to tell her side of the story. Anyways, considering that she moved to another country just to be near her estranged husband, I'd be willing to bet that it is far more his fault than hers.

Lila is not really a typical Japanese name - She isn't Japanese

she is not hot enough to be this high maintenance - Yes she is :)

Only people with 'typical' Japanese names are Japanese? What are the criteria for determining a 'typical' Japanese name? I know lots of Japanese people with 'atypical' names who are just as Japanese as their friends 'blessed' with names like Taro, Junko, Hanako or Jiro. (Assuming that those are 'typical' names...)

As for what little Erika gets up to ..... enough already. The intense media interest in her every move leaves me cold.

I must admit that I want to cut her some slack on this. Sounds like she made a terrible mistake in marrying this guy, and compounded it by getting an attitude with her agency/sponsors, before heading for Spain. But, seems, at least, to want to make things right, even if that means swallowing her pride and going to see her ex's parents. Hell, she's only 24. She's entitled to be forgiven.

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize he was so old..."

cleo, I was just pointing out that papigiulio was mistaken. Erika's mother, "Lila," is French. I have plenty of Japanese friends who do not have "typical" names. Rurie, for example.

bicultural - Sorry, I thought you were saying she wasn't 'really' Japanese because of her name. Now I see what you mean. So little Erika is haaf? Maybe that explains the good looks.

her mother's name is lila because she is a foreigner, her mother is french-algerian.

and i disagree with an above user, i dont think erika can resume a normal career. all this pathetic bawling-her-eyes-out every second day and making every event she attends all about herself has ruined her career as much as the original scandal. she will always be known as that actress who thought she was such a tough little cookie but ended up crawling back to the very people she insulted. enough of this woman already.

@rainblamer1 - who said i read said article?!? i went straight to the comments section! and i'm still waiting for my apology! can you aid anyway in that?!!

@KansaiWhinger: The fact you have even commented would show that you have indeed read, at least, this article. If you don't care, why even comment. Ignored, like most things, it will go away.

live by the media, die by the media. don't blame the media.

Lilas is how her name is spelled. It's the lilac flower (in French).
