To mark the 4th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, actress Sayuri Yoshinaga, 69, will release a poetry recitation CD, “Dai Ni Gakusho Fukushima He no Omoi” (Victor Entertainment, 3,024 yen).
The CD is a compilation of 23 poems, including poems by poet Koichi Wago, who was a victim of the Fukushima disaster, as well as poems by elementary school students, which Yoshinaga recites over bamboo flute background music.
Yoshinaga told Sankei Shimbun that she put her strength into the work, saying, “Through these poems, I feel close to the people of Fukushima, and that we are supporting them.”

Goodness. This is the physical version of slackerism on facebook, likes and groups and what have you. How about, instead, people here pressure their government, you know the old, self-serving oyaji, into taking action and fixing the Fukushima problem once and for all. Just standing on a stage screaming "We have it under control" doesn't make it so. Poems are good, but how do they really help people deep in the sh*t? I would be offended if some celeb did this. This cowering and pretending to care, kizuna BS makes me want to throw up...

If you feel such, why haven't you quit your job and moved up to Fukushima to do something about the situation?

Sooo, do the proceeds go to restoration work or a victims fund? No mention of that at all. If not, this seems worse than war profiteering to me. Also, 3,024 yen?!?!? Really? Wow...

All royalties will be donated to the victims. That's according to Yahoo! Japan.

How about supporting all the people who faced disaster on March 11, Yoshinaga-San? The big disaster was the massive loss of life on the Pacific Coast of Tohoku, not the largely unnessesary nuclear evacuation.
