Greed

The most logical outcome played out
The death nail to the argument was when Disney formalized a 90 day theatrical release buffer for all new movies using a hybrid strategy back in August.
With this done, I don’t see Johannson being heavily featured in Disney branded movies, but can see her being attached to less brand controlled roles and producer positions.

I think Disney backed down because Scarlet is too big to cross and not for nothing, the law was on her side.

More like all the details of contract becomes public records if they go to court and that can of worms unleashed damages Disney’s ability to retain actors.

Not greed at all, Johansson is an A list star who if she accepts a film role it makes it much easier for the producers to get funding. She’s done a lot of indie films that would have been made if she’d not been there.
The problem with Disney is by going straight to streaming it made a negative impact on her bankability as a leading actress. The producers of her next film may not be able to burrow as much next time.

Yeah, Disney is an extremely greedy company. Good for Johansson, standing up for herself.
