What a lady! Rest In Peace, Sean Connery! A true legend.

RIP. In addition to James Bond, to me he will always be Dr. Henry Jones, Indiana Jones' father.

Great actor. Dementia is a terrible illness, robs both the sufferer and those around them.

Iconic, like Clint, but possibly not a great actor. His range was limited.

Strong believer in Scottish independence, so he certainly had that going for him.

James Bond = Sean Connery

The best of all Bond's actors. Natural acting talent

Nah, Timothy Dalton was the best. Then Connery, Craig, Brosnan.

Moore was ok, but even less range than Connery.

And Lazenby? Well, OHMSS is a brilliant, dark movie with excellent casting (apart from GL), the soundtrack/score is magnificent and the ending so downbeat. Probably my favorite movie outing for 007.

TH: Stardom in film is more about impact and character, especially for a role like 007. An adequate level of acting is necessary, but range has little, if anything, to do with screen presence, when assessing star actors in action roles, particularly.

Sean Connery was the most iconic James Bond. RIP.

Absolutely.

I mentioned Eastwood above, there's only 2 films of his where he's not totally being CE - that would be Million Dollar Baby and White Hunter Black Heart. In the latter he does an excellent take on John Huston. A much overlooked film, I guess because it might just glorify hunting. Still worth a look.

As is Connery's cameo in Time Bandits, where he seems to be having great fun and his brilliant turn in The Name of the Rose. Still Connery being Connery, of course.

What a sad day for his family and for us too, he will be sadly missed by everyone.

Not just the best of all Bonds - the Bond.

Connery played the best, suavest fascist in a tuxedo. Sad to hear that he finally succumbed to dementia.

“A man walks into a bar.... I don’t know the rest of the joke but Trump’s an ass.”

Sean Connery in one of his final public statements.

“A man walks into a bar.... I don’t know the rest of the joke but Trump’s an ass.”

Despite dementia, this must have been one of Connery's lucid moments which makes you question the sanity of those who see the ass as the savior of America.

Graham DeShazo - Sean Connery in one of his final public statements.

That is not a true statement.
