Singer-actress Seiko Matsuda, 47, shines in a new commercial for the latest products in the Diosa range of hair dyes by Schwarzkopf & Henkel.
Matsuda, who wears a backless black dress in the commercial, said that she thought beige was the best color for women around 40, bringing out the beauty in their skin. Matsuda went on to say it was a fine color for classy women and said that it would make them love themselves even more.
The Diosa range entered the Japanese market last year targeting women around 40. Demand was high for a “classy beige” product and Schwarzkopf released their Beige Brown and Deep Beige Brown hair dyes on March 2.
The commercial airs from Wednesday.

'Celebrity Beige'? Isn't that a tautologous euphemism for mediocre?

I don't get why it is on the front page.

WHY is there a news story about this? How can this possibly be of any interest to anybody??

This is Japan, honey! Just listen to the pitter patter of all those heels hot-footing it to the pharmacy to pick up their beige color! Should match the LV handbags beautifully darling!

Black hair looks better. It contrasts nicely with light colored skin. Then dress in a strong color like red or blue. Celebrity Beige would act as camouflage if she walked into Starbucks.

Because its ENTERTAINMENT news. Hell, even the Japanese morning news dedicate 15 minutes every hour, between 4am - 10am to Entertainment news. Oh, not to forget the actual Entertainment news talk shows from 10am - 12pm.
Japan sure worships their idols.

Well, brown is the national color. She does look nice, though, whatever color her hair.

this company has confidence to propose one hair color to a whole age group. Diversity at its best.
