On a personal level, I would have to say, the whole idea of 2 guys getting married bugs the hell out of me. They're welcome to do whatever they want, in the privacy of their own home, because frankly its none of my business, but don't call it marriage unless you're hooking up with a girl on the side.

And like Shatner said. If you want to be gay, then be gay. Its no ones business but your own.

Regarding what Shatner said about not being invited. Seriously who cares. You did a TV show together 40 years ago, you were in a couple movies since. The most recent being what, 15 years ago? Looking at my own life, if someone I worked with 15 years ago got upset about not being invited to my wedding, I would wonder what the heck was wrong with them.

Shatner has always come off as sort of a jackass. Who knows if he was truly invited or not but it's kinda sad that there is still some sort of animosity after all of these years. Congratulations to Geaorge Takei, I'm glad he's out there doing what makes him happy.

I just watched the clip too, out of curiosity. I have to say, Shatner sounded so damn bitter, it's as if he made sure he didn't get an invite so that he could have a dig at Takei. He goes on to criticize Takei for not coming out, as if it's easy for an actor to do so in the 1970's. This guy has lost all remaining credit. I'm glad Takei got the chance to roast him on TV.

All this time I thought that museum was to promote Japanese-American culture.

I'll let you in on a secret. Takei is....wait for it.......a J.A.P.A.N.E.S.E. A.M.E.R.I.C.A.N.

Yeah, Nodame, he's an attention whore. Look at his youtube video about not getting a role in the new Trek movie.

I like to WRITE like William Shatner TALKS!! To EXPRESS yourself in a way that doesn't go AGAINST others is natural and HUMAN! To boldly seek CONTRONTION and force those around you to KNEEL-and BOW before your ego is inhuman and INHUMANE!!

He...SPEAKS...as if...he's FORGOTTEN...his LINES.

They got married Sept. 14, not 15.

In the end, Takei did invite him, but he never replied. Which isn't surprising. I mean, Shatner didn't even go to Gene Rodenberry's funeral. Dude, it's been over a month since he got married. Get over it.

Takei came out back in the 70s, during the movies, according to Walter Koenig (Chekov). Pretty much everybody on set knew that he was gay. He just never said anything to the media.

Actually, the only cast member who actually got along with Shatner was Leonard Nimoy. DeForest Kelly and James Doohan couldn't stand him.

I watched that video, and wish I hadn't. Shatner changed some of what Takei said, and made it so it sounded like Takei was attacking him. And honestly, saying that he has a 'psychosis' isn't helping. "I don’t know what his original thing about me was. I have no idea." Maybe it's because you were such a jackass to him. shrugs

Sounds like Shatner just wants attention.

Is Shatner upset he wasn't invited, or is he upset that Takei made public to-do about specifically not inviting Shatner? I wouldn't want Shatner at my wedding, either, but I wouldn't kick up a stink about not inviting him.

Maybe there was a transporter accident and Shatner was turned into two personalities, or worse, into Janice Lester, his deranged squeeze from his Academy days. Anyway, Sulu sounds more like the Captain than Kirk in this particular instance.

Shatner is just jealous that Takei has aged so much better than he has.

Shatner is just jealous that Takei is tagging someone who's aged much better than whoever Shatner's tagging.

the multicultural ceremony at the Japanese American National Museum.

All this time I thought that museum was to promote Japanese-American culture. Not the gay culture. Or should that be Gay-American culture? Hmm...

John Cho, from the "Harold and Kumar" movies, will play Sulu. You'd think there was only one Asian actor in Hollywood...!!

And the "roast" of William Shatner was fall-down-laughing funny, if far too raunchy for network broadcast. Lisa Lampanelli was a riot (even if she was reading from her notes the entire time), and Betty White, whew... in her 80s, and still able to both dish it out and take it with the rest of them...

I think parts of it are available on YouTube...

Who's playing Sulu in the next Star Trek movie?

He's gay, Jim . . .

Shatner is probably still p*ssed at Takei for roasting him on TV, blasting him with jokes related to bad acting and toupees (though I'm willing to bet Takei enjoyed it).

Shatner said he felt he never knew Takei when they worked together on the original TV series

But he sure as hell knew Nichelle Nichols.

Capt. Kirk would you for once try to have a heart. We're talking about Sulu. He's giving him all he's got.

stanoue - Shatner's Denny Crane character is, well, a real character! I'll admit he makes me laugh sometimes, but, seriously, to go from Captain James T. Kirk of the starship Enterprise to the womanizing Denny Crane...

Sebarashii - that's how I read that particular quote, too. Denny Crane!! Love him. I don't even care if he is awful in real life- love him.

Altria - If he sang "Rocket Man," it would have been a huge hit!

"It is our hope that at this point he joins us in voting no on Proposition 8"

Not likely.

The “Boston Legal” co-star also attacked Takei’s decision to come out of the closet later in life, saying “Who cares? Be gay. Don’t be gay. That’s up to you, George.”

Maybe it's me, but I fail to see an attack here. Isn't that a very reasonable thing to say? It was Takei's decision and it shouldn't matter, whether or not he is gay.

Something is wrong with this Shatner guy. He seems to be the one we need to feel sorry for. He feels badly? And where is the sickness? Perhaps HE feels sickly, too? :-)

His version of Lucy In the Sky was even more mind numbing.

From what little I know, Takei's dislike for Shatner has gone on for 30+ years and boils down to Shatner's personality. Amazing that Shatner still hasn't a clue. Maybe he should listen to Takei on the Stern show...

Altria - If he sang "Mr Tambourine Man" it would turn the wedding into a mass-suicide!

Maybe he was worried Shatner would get on the microphone and sing.
