The World Health Organization (WHO) has said evidence suggest the novel coronavirus originated in animals, "most likely" in bats before spreading to humans through an intermediate animal host, and that there is no evidence to suggest it was created by humans.

Never mind that there is a laboratory in Wuhan dedicated to the study of infectious diseases.

How is it that the WHO believes the authoritarian CCP that confines Chinese people for exercising free speech?

And how many millions of dollars has the CCP donated to the WHO?

I can't remember the difference between Bryan Adams and Ryan Adams and I'm not going to look it up today.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Bryan Adams says what most are thinking and that's a bad thing? All those that see the elephant in the room but choose to ignore it are the problem. The problem today is everyone is too worried about offending someone that everyone just avoids dealing with the problem and we get to where we are now with the CCP running the W.H.O. and controlling you through fear and through brainwashing. You might not know it it but calling you a racist is part of the CCP's playbook and it works because look at just how worked up you get and do their work for them. Some people today are upset and have no idea why but they are given a reason so they go with it not really being able to explain themselves. Bryan Adams just stated what the CCP would like us to believe is the reason the virus got out into the public maybe because the truth would do more damage to the CCP? Before you react either way, make the effort to understand why you react, otherwise you are being played and thus brainwashed.

The post was widely condemned on social media, and Amy Go, president of the Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice, told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp that the singer's comments were "just so, so, so, so racist."

This squeal of "racist" any time someone criticises China has gone way past boring. There's no explanation of why, of course; just calling someone racist is enough. How exactly was Bryan Adams being racist here?

Anyhow, even though his criticism was a little off - I think the virus came from a lab, intentionally or not I'm not sure - without showing the full post for context, how can the title of this article justifiably call what Adams said a "conspiracy rant"? Typical mainstream media sensationalism and bias.

Japan Today, I thought you were better than that.

And why should he have to apologise? I'm not a vegan, but am happy for Adams to pursue and promote that path if he wants. Should've just told the offence brigade to shove it. He's already got enough money that it won't affect his lifestyle if a few people don't buy his records.

Stand up for yourself Bryan, and retract your apology!

Another dubious attempt to push the anti-Asian narrative. Playing right into the hands of the far right and those who want to deflect from their own domestic disastrous leaders.

Did he mean to give the bigots a boost? Maybe not. But the message has been garbled about meat alternatives, so, a missed opportunity at best.

Veganism does not cause mental illness.

There are millions of vegans and vegetarians across the world who do just fine.

It's an integral part of some religious beliefs, as well.

Adams can do whatever he wants to do, I’ll never give up meat, never give up hunting, getting ready to fire up the grill today as a matter fact, if people want to be vegans, good for them I wish them all the luck and all the best for health, but for me it doesn’t work for me and I would never do it for a multitude of reasons.

What? Oh, dear lord...

There's been stupid coverage on US TV of open markets and 'wet markets' in China, furthering the racist notion of Chinese being 'dirty' people. And that IS racism in effect - China is a modern nation (always has been on top for innovation for most of its long history) but its government is one of the worst on planet Earth right now. Still, the virus was not 'created' and nobody is to blame for it. They're suffering too.

Bryan Adams has toured around the world - I remember when he toured Vietnam, a Communist nation in the Far East. Vietnamese culture is quite different from that in China but he should know better than to say something so hateful, bigoted and outright stupid as that!

And it's stupid moronic crap statements like that - from a respected rock star that incites violence and alienates fans because it portrays others as being less than people. Are Oriental Asian fans just a source of moolah for him? Disgusting and shameful!

The Chinese KNEW the virus was coming, allowed the Wuhanese carte blanche to travel abroad AND Chinese companies began buying PPE from other countries to import-Adams doesn’t sound batty to me...

I might, I might not. But this isn't about either of us.

What? Oh, dear lord...

I'm sure Jesus would have approved of a vegan lifestyle. Plenty of other icons have.

This is very true, many icons have, but as I have said, they are entitled to not eat meat, that’s their choice, I would never do that, that’s my personal choice, but I get where he’s coming from. I support conservation of all wildlife.

There was also a global pandemic (Hong Kong flu) in the 'summer of '69' that killed 1 million world wide. It may have originated in mainland China.

By hunting animals?

How do you feel about trophy hunters of endangered species?

It seems offending others has become the biggest fear of most celebrities as it hurts financially.

Doesn't matter if you are a vegan, vegetarian or whatevertarian, you cannot blame a whole group of people for anything.

Wet markets are cruel no doubt, but so are many of the abattoirs , time and time again we see footage of such acts.

No-one asked you to. No-one cares about your diet. Least of all Bryan Adams. Or Ryan Adams. Either of them. Whichever one is which.

Wet markets are not necessarily cruel. "Wet market" means a marketplace that sells perishable goods, like meat, fish, and vegetables, as opposed to "dry markets" that sell durable goods, like electronics or clothes.

Farmers' markets are wet markets. They're not cruel - or at least, that's not their defining feature.

Why is it that so many vegans are sickly sweet nice to animals but really nasty to human beings?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

If Trump had said this, it would be racist. But Bryan Adams is a Canadian. And vegetarian. He must be a good person.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

Just wait till you hear what Morrissey says.

If Trump had said this, it would be racist.

I think it was.

He apologised, that's a good sign. Dunno if he's a good person or not. Or if hes the same person as Ryan Adams. Literally got no idea.

PC do-gooders going crazy again.

Very hypocritical calling Adams a racist, considering what’s happening in China with the Uyghur & African people.

How were his comments racist? Most people would agree that eating bats is not a good idea, and that wet markets can be extremely unsanitary. That has nothing to do with race.

That is wasteful, stupid and wrong.

I eat steak + bacon + hamburgers + fish + fowl and I always will. I believe what my Native American ancestors and many people always believe - the Creator gave us animals and plants as resources incl. nourishment. Animals and plants are made so we can live. But that's no excuse to be killing any beast for some dumb reason like having a trophy head above a fireplace and there certainly is no excuse to hunt a species to the point of extinction.

As for bullfighting, that's just plain sick. That's not a sport, it's a sadistic all-afternoon session on a bull. Just kill it and grill it.

The Bible says somewhere after his Resurrection and meeting with his disciples he ate fish. So no he was not a vegetarian or a vegan. But at the same time I don't think he would approve of slaying animals for no good reason. The Book of Genesis hints at that. Not to push religion here but just saying.

TH never said Jesus was vegan, he said he'd approve of it. Just as he'd approve heartily of socialism.
