My own personal favorite was just how many people completely misread Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" as some kind of upbeat anthem.

Then again, listening to The Smiths often brings a smile to my face...

Sam Smith = "The Blues"??

That rumbling you can hear is BB King spinning in his grave.

Springsteen won't let them, but yeah, politicians trying to use Born in the USA as a nationalist anthem. The cry for help lyrics are easier to pick up if you hear the original acoustic demo.

There may be more female artists now, but the ones I see seem to be wearing fewer clothes than in the 1980s.

More emotional brain receptors are firing off when music is listened to through a music video rather just an album. So if you want to sell more music, play on those heartstrings baby!

I WANT MY MTV!

Thanks for the study but it's really not rocket science for those who enjoyed music prior to the launch of MTV. It's gone down hill ever since for the most part.

No, that's just his stomach grumbling. He might still be hungry.

No need to get into strict labels. BB King himself could be disqualified by some standards. If an artist performs from the heart, that's all that matters. I don't know any musicians who get into saying this or that isn't blues or jazz. It's all music.

Sam needs a better pose. Looks like he just got caught in a pick...

Long live the Blues

In what world is "Glory Days" a happy song? The former high school baseball player is living in the past. The former class beauty split up with her husband. The dad got let go from his job for being too old and now spends his time in a bar. The only thing that makes any of the subjects happy is reminiscing, as their current lives aren't happy and their futures (the listening can assume) are bleak.
