SMAP was really supportive of 3/11 victims last year. Good for them and wishing all success. Downers need not give the usual smack downs to SMAP. For once.

"SMAP" are a strictly controlled production like Arashi and AKB 48. They do not make any decisions about their professional lives themselves. Everything they do in the public arena is decided by their management teams. The more skeptical might tend to think that being supportive of 3/11 victims was an absolute necessity to maintain their carefully-nurtured public image.

Sounds more like their last attempt to seem benevolent with a 6% donation of all intake off their last albums wasn't enough, and they know it, so they are further trying to bribe fans while making themselves look like winners (when they are losers).

C'mon smith, did you donate 6% of your salary last year....or ever?!

Sorry Billy & Smith are correct, smap released an album under guise of donating to Fukushima victims when in reality they donated a tiny winy proportion & POCKED THE REST, its was pretty slimy move!

But hey now their mgmt can go back to full on profiteering!

It was all over the media when the scam, sorry I mean "charity" thing went down, it was incredibly bad.

I mean hey wud you give me Y3000 yen if I said I wud donate Y1500 of it, course not, but thats EXACTLY what smap & their mgmt did, a measly Y200 it was a sick joke that myself & a few others on this thread remember & with some luck you wont forget!

OK, we get it, but your constant defending of this kind sham and refuting the validity of those who object to it comes across as, well... schoolgirlish...please get properly informed and move on.
