Hope Pyongyang Elvis also gets some royalties considering all the work he did creating the marketing buzz for this epic. Perhaps an odds-on favorite for Best Picture at the Oscars?

Maybe the extra scenes will make the movie rating up to a B-
Was not a powerful comedy, but has potential with the extra cut footage. Maybe bloopers too.
I am sure it will be on line soon.

I really hope this gets released in Japan. I'd love to watch it, if only to see what all the fuss is about.

So it was essentially a "straight to video" movie??
ReformedBasher
I'd rent it for Y100 at Tsutayas.

Sony cashes in, pretty obvious

I just watched it, not worth the hype. Just a big provocation to the regime...

"Sony cashes in, pretty obvious" ummm. Yeah. I am pretty sure that is what businesses try to do. Make money.

Hypocrites. They initially chickened out of releasing the picture and got called out by President Obama, George Clooney and others for not defending free speech, and now they come out with the "Freedom Edition".

It is very profitable to Sony. Now people who usually skip comedy movie on DVD packets will pick up in Walmart and other DVD sales stores 2 disx combo pack disc 1 Blue ray feature film + bonus disk 2 DVD feature film + bonus. Suckers paid for on-line release. Now SONY does not have to advertise like Ninja Turtle and other top sales of 2 disc packs. But I will wait iit will be televised on Sony's customer Cable channels. Sales of this kind pack is very big.

Silly movie. It will likely be a hit on outlets like Redbox out here in the US, though. Doubtful I'll buy it.

Ah, cynical marketing at it's finest. Well done, Sony.

Fewer people are seeing movies at the theatre and most of them are citing the high ticket price as the main reason they are staying away. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com-ll.cc/news/study-53-percent-shun-movie-763435. Is this going to mean even more pirate sites or will Hollywood finally get the message and lower ticket prices? My guess is more pirate sites.

Well-done, SONY. Stupid movie? Yes, and it was never intended to be cerebral. More like a mock-umentary. It's called comedy. I love parodies.

"Freedom edition".... so ridiculous.
innit
The hack cost them a fortune, I don't blame them for milking this for every cent.

??? What kind of cost? SONY had free advertisement and now Americans know it is SONY Pictures Entertainment in Culver City, not other Sony Electronics.
