Battleship, Angry Birds... I'm going to start work on scripts for Minesweeper, Connect Four, and Uno.

Good luck. This sounds like an awful idea to me, and Sony can't afford for it to flop on them.

It just gets worse and worse. So much money, so little creativity.

2016????? That will be soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo uncool by then.

Another step towards bankruptcy!

Will anyone still be playing, much less caring, about this game three years from now?

Wow this is Sony's nail in the coffin

It makes me wonder what the plot of the movie will be?

There are few titles out there that bring this kind of excitement, brand awareness and built-in audience to the table.

Kubrick didn't need pie charts to plan his next film.

Sony, please don't, I don't think any of us could stand this.

So this is the lowest common documentary of film inspiration?

Yes terrible idea, and am I the only one who sickened by business jargon? Consumers, brand awareness, etc. Its as if the idea of actual people is slowly being phased out.

3 years to make an animated movie based on a fairly basic game? Or is to br a live action version.

Could be up there with the Garbage Pail Kids movie ( I heard a chilling rumour that someone is remaking it ).

So . . . . we get an Angry Birds movie, but not a live-action Red Vs. Blue? Something is wrong with this.

Sony Pictures Entertainment chief executive Michael Lynton and chairman Amy Pascal said in a joint statement: “Every studio in town would love to add ‘Angry Birds’ to their slate.

Talking big there. I seriously doubt what you say is true though.

“There are few titles out there that bring this kind of excitement, brand awareness and built-in audience to the table.

Right, okay, you mean the "built-in audience" that will have forgotten what Angry Birds is in 2016.

I don't play games, assuming it is, so I have NO IDEA what its about, and I guess I am not on my own.

The live action version of pigs that have been full-body-tattooed green hiding behind walls that birds are being constantly catapulted into would be hilarious, but I'm betting PETA would have a meltdown.

Time for a new role-playing game, perhaps? You get to play the chairman of a major multinational and win points by bankrupting it as soon as you can by dreaming up the least successful movie ideas ever.

Sony entertainment was extremely profitable last year. It must have plan for '14 and '15. The company always had future plans in electronic device developments. It must have many Manga products already in their plan. Maybe replace Nintendo's position in manga movie area?
