Well, K-Pop fans posted videos of K-Pop youtube links when the Dallas Police asked for videos to help them find looters, so this seems reasonable.

Good thing that BTS has JP Morgan in their corner for their IPO. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-bts-big-hit-ipo/k-pop-sensation-bts-label-picks-jpmorgan-others-for-ipo-media-idUSKCN20J08O

Good for them. I'd always viewed Kpop bands and their fans as blandly apolitical but it's heartening to know they actually care about things like this.

I wonder if BTS realize that all BLM cares about are white cops killing blacks and care nothing about black on black killings which is astronomically higher. Go figure.

Yeah. Go figure. What do you really know about BLM? I guess since black on black killings are astronomically higher, it is OK in a country that calls itself a democracy and which supposedly values all humans' rights, for cops to keep on violating black and brown people's human rights just because of what you posted. Just kill me. No charges, no trial by jury. Just do the execution right there on the spot, officer. Japanese say that foreigners' commit more crimes here. Is it OK for them to violate your human rights because of that? Does your "logic" go for every country or just black countries or just the U.S.? This is exactly the attitude that BLM, the NAACP, SPLC and others have been fighting against for decades. Some people refuse to, and never will get it. Re-education necessary.

What is your view on black on black crime? How will it be solved and why are you sweeping it under the carpet? There are 2 issues: police brutality against minorities and black on black murder. Whenever it is brought up, people instantly change the topic like it is no big deal. 2 big songs "We're All in the Same Gang" and "Self-Destruction" were released in the late 80s by hip-hop/rap all stars on opposite coasts. Nothing has changed!

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

The Black culture in general has some serious problems that BLM refuses to acknowledge. Blacks make up 13% of the US population but are responsible for 50% of the crime. 70% of black families are single mothers. The list goes on. I’ll support BLM when they finally decide to acknowledge the real problems that need to be addressed.

Young men realize racism knows no cultural boundaries.

This is the kind of ARMY the world needs.

1 ( +8 / -7 )

The bigots always bring up "black on black" crime when trying to dismiss Black Lives Matter. So-called black on black crime is a separate issue and off the point--a diversion--when discussing Black Lives Matter, which is about non-violent black people being murdered by white cops. It is a frequent occurrence. During the demonstrations protesting the police killing of George Floyd the police in their naked brutality against peaceful demonstrators showed the world that they are law breakers, not law enforcers.

Good for BTS.

BTS should rather look into poor Asian countries. They became rich by rich fans and now they should help their poor fans from the poor family of the poor Asian countries.

If u actually roam around those villages and experience their lifestyle, people are really struggling, those families, children, animals, community etc.

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

"If u actually roam around those villages and experience their lifestyle, people are really struggling, those families, children, animals, community etc."

Are there white policemen shooting unarmed and peaceful villagers when they are walking down a street or in their own homes? This is what is happening in the U.S. to Black people and also to Native Americans.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Good on them. Whether or not they are suffering from what it is happening in the US, and the attempts by bigots to deflect and say what police are doing in the US doesn't matter because black on black crime is, according to them, high, is all irrelevant since they are simply trying to help people in need.

What a colossal waste of $1M.

1 ( +10 / -9 )

Which was 9 unarmed black people killed by any race of cop in 2019. Much more to BLM than just that.

which is about non-violent black people being murdered by white cops

why are people painting George Floyd as some kind of angel? He was in the midst of committing a federal crime of passing off counterfeit currency when he was arrested. He has a criminal record of other petty crimes as well. Not a model citizen. Sure he didn’t deserve to die but when you commit a crime you open yourself up to trouble which can spiral out of control.

I am not 'sweeping it under the carpet.' YOU want to make it two issues. Tell me this: When a white person kills another white person, do you think to yourself 'white on white crime'? I am willing to bet the vast majority of white people do not. However, they will be quick to point it out the other way. When whites were killing blacks with impunity for 400 years, there was no conversation about the crime rate then. I am sure the average black person knows that the black crime rate is high. I am sure they all want to see it drop dramatically. I am sure they are frustrated, but black crime nor crime for that matter, cannot just be 'solved.' I am also sure that they feel cops violate and have been violating black people's civil rights at a rate way higher than any other group. The protests are about more than George Floyd. We all know he was no saint. Neither are you or I. Why does he have to be? However, under the sacred documents that Americans hold so dearly to their hearts when it suits the situation, he supposedly had rights: The right to a lawyer, the right to a trial and the right to be judged by a jury. He never got any of that. It happens often. THAT is the issue. Don't confuse two separate things.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

First off, who gets this money? Yes, Black lives DO matter, however this has become a social media circus. Why just George Floyd? Where’s the demonstrations for Ahmaud Arbery? Breonna Taylor? Known xenophobic/rascist cultures are monetizing unnecessary deaths via police brutality to increase their media footprint. I used to live in New York and whenever I’d go into a Korean grocery store, Black customers and I (thanks to my darker mixed race features) would get followed by the Korean owners and shoo’d away or hurried up if I was taking too long in deciding whether or not to buy an item. Now, living in Hawaii I see the systematic and willful ignoring of Black tourists/residents by East Asian (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) store owners. So I just have to laugh at notably and inherently rascist Asian cultures appropriating Black culture while now saying that Black Lives Matter! I’d laugh that I would a more egalitarian attitude toward darker-skinned members of the human race will happen in my lifetime once all this sturm un drang du jour subsides!

Doubt if they need or want your support. Give it to the Klan.

Dunno, never saw any white customers at work having the cops called and then murdered when they tried to (or accidentally handed over) fake currency. You'd get barred, at worst.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Man, my one negative vote touched a nerve with someone who denies that East Asian cultures are generally racist towards their darker-skinned brethren. Case in point, Naomi Osaka was bullied hafu till she won a Grand Slam title, then suddenly she’s Japan’s “It” girl! I remember that there was a Harvard University graduate thesis paper on the anti-Africanism of China. Then, there’s my friend, who’s Black, who married a Korean woman. His wife was disowned by her family for marrying him and, in their words, giving birth to a “black monkey!” They even said that if she had to marry a non-Korean, why didn’t she marry a white guy, then at least the shame of her marrying a foreigner would be glossed over by her producing “cute” babies. If that isn’t systemic racism, I don’t know what is.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Good for them. I am sure they and their fans are also very vocal in campaigns about the racism against blacks and non-Koreans in their nation, South Korea.

0 ( +3 / -3 )

Why just George Floyd? Where’s the demonstrations for Ahmaud Arbery? Breonna Taylor?

Its all about all of them and more dude. George Floyd was the drop of water that broke the flood gates. Trust me, the protests did not erupt nationwide just because of Floyd.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

why are people painting George Floyd as some kind of angel?

Martyr. The world you are looking for is martyr. Not angel. Not saint. Not role model and not hero. The word is martyr. Figure this out and stop pestering us all with drivel about how he was not perfect. And repeating my post above this is not only about Floyd but also totally innocent people like Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Aiyana Jones, Akai Gurley, Atatiana Jefferson and so very, very VERY many more. So you can stop repeatedly trying to make this about Floyd alone so I can also stop repeating myself...DAMMIT.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Indeed, they never show us examples of cops killing whites.... funny that.

Yeah, and if you watch the video of his arrest, before they kneeled on him, you can clearly see him twice dropping little white packets (drugs?). He was a not a good man, and I am not sure he was actually killed by Chauvin; he stumbled to the ground at least twice before the kneeling.

Indeed. The long and tragic history of white people being oppressed is never addressed. Except on every single topic that concerns black people. Funny that.

He was a not a good man, and I am not sure he was actually killed by Chauvin; he stumbled to the ground at least twice before the kneeling.

It's true. I saw him stumble right under the heroic Chauvin's knee. Such a move could have killed Chauvin.

@Artemis Rogers

If you read a little further I mentioned others as well. It’s just that it’s only about George Floyd right now without any major mention of Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, both instances of which just happened a few weeks ago. I’m never one to minimize the loss of any life to bigotry/racism but George Floyd had NBA friends like Stephen Jackson, in turn, LeBron James who made his martyrdom a cultural zeitgeist. I’m just saying all of the victims, voiceless or otherwise, deserve equal standing on the stage against racism. The last time the US had major race riots was Ferguson, MO for a name many had forgotten, Michael Brown. The media was christening it as the opening of a needed conversation on race relations and that’s when Obama was President. That was 2014, six years later and we’re still stuck on square one because people are just treating it a social media experiment and not as the serious catalyst for change that it should be.

I don't remember Naomi Osaka being bullied for being half because she mostly grew up abroad. I did hear that her grandfather who didn't speak to her mother for several years because she married a black man which is bad in itself.

I also know a Dutch guy who had a Korean girlfriend for over 10 years and he proposed to her in which she said yes. Once her parents heard, they threatened to either disown her or she marries a random Korean guy of their choice. She chose her parents over the only man she ever loved. There was a documentary about this very issue and Hines Ward told about his trauma with Korean racism towards him growing up half-black/half-Korean.

BTS is the same group that wore a nazi cap, said the "n" word and wore a t-shirt glorifying the Nagasaki atomic bomb(Japan is the country they got their break). Their management is just trying boost up their public relations.

Its not funny at all. They are just doing what for-profit media companies do....give the people what keeps them tuned in.

If you want to get educated you cannot rely on the mass media to serve it up for you. You have to do your own investigations. There is no shortage of incidents and even video of said incidents of cops murdering White and Hispanic people too. But that is not what the public wants to hear. Black Lives Matter because the public really does not care much about other people getting killed for their news.

I don't understand why it's black culture. African American music is heavily influenced by Western European music. Black Americans have actually appropriated white music

1 ( +1 / -0 )

African American music is heavily influenced by Western European music.

If you mean, how hip hop was influenced by Kraftwerk, well, that's a given. The German band have influenced many bands over the years.

Black Americans have actually appropriated white music

And vice versa. Elvis appropriated gospel, the blues and spirituals. Led Zeppelin appropriated the blues as well.

That's the great thing about music, we all borrow from each other. Fusion.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Black Lives Matter because the public really does not care much about other people getting killed for their news.

The point of the phrase - Black Lives Matter - is that black lives are being treated as expendable by the police and the government that employs them.

Where did you get this idea? I've never ready any stories about her being bulied for being hafu.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

The point of the phrase - Black Lives Matter - is that black lives are being treated as expendable by the police and the government that employs them.

They are not treated any more expendable than white lives; but it does indeed look that way on the MSM.

Its not funny at all. They are just doing what for-profit media companies do....give the people what keeps them tuned in.

No, showing whites being abused by police would be equally "profitable" for the media. The media is intentionally pushing a dishonest narrative because their owners have an agenda to divide the people to help bring about their communist revolution.
