Competitive Gal Sone says she'd like to have two daughters

Competitive eater Gal Sone, 28, who had a baby boy in November 2012, says she would like to expand her family with two daughters.

Sone was in fine form this week, attending the NEXCO East Japan Donburi Championships in Tokyo to decide which "donburi" shop is the best out of all the shops located in parking and service areas on highways, Sports Nippon reported.

Fifteen shops that survived the preliminary round battled in the championship to win the title of “Doradon King.” First prize went to Tomobe Service Area on the Joban expressway, whose "donburi" uses ingredients from Ibaraki Prefecture.

After tasting all 15 kinds of "donburi," Sone said, “I tried to eat as much as possible within the time limit."

When asked by a reporter if she is having another baby, Sone pointed to her expanding tummy and joked, "No, that's just because I ate a lot of 'donburi.' I look like I'm about to have a baby tomorrow."

But she said she would like to one day have two daughters.

My junior high school students understand 'have' to mean 'eat' thanks to their Japanese English teacher. I hope Gal Sone didnt mean have in the same way that my students mean it.

I thought we were done hearing about her. It must be a slow news day.

I have never understood the fascination with eating contests. It seems such a waste to me in general.

That said, I hope this woman does not suffer any future negative effects of so much quick overeating.

with the amount of stuff she jams down her throat unnecessarily she could have multiple kids and drop them all off at the pool before lunch

I look like I’m about to have a baby tomorrow.”

I'm sure you will. Just the kind of baby you're thinking of.
