Certainly is mate. Might listen to a bit of Springsteen. With the footy fixtures decimated, I’ve got a bit of time on my hands.

I liked Tougher than the rest.

I love Bruce.

bruce squashes those two like pissants. Ted wrote about one or two decent songs in a 50 year+ career and it's a sad ratio. And his armchair warrior 'activism' overshadows it. Kid Rock (who I saw open for the Rolling Stones in 2015) is a juvenile egotistical jerk with virtually nothing to say. Almost all his songs are X-rated, boorish and with the maturity of a 3rd grader. He even refers himself to and sells swag calling himself an ugly insult word I ain't typing here. Self-shame.
Stevie has written and accomplished alot during his 60 year - odd career. And so has George Clinton in his various groups and while solo. He's been in the business since the 50s!

Understood: “*for future ref, I do not make typos” *! *- Also, found the error(?) of “It’s admiral*…” to be ‘hysterical’ considering the ‘suspected identity’ of the source of the quote !! **Ahoy, … Bruce!

For future reference, I do not make typos.
I make art.

It's admiral to stand alone for something you believe in.

My favorite Springsteen song is "I'm on Fire" from his Born in the USA album.

Oh! Ok, then @zichi 1:20am I understand now. It wasn’t necessarily a colloquialism but just some ‘artistic interpretation’; some ‘on-topic’ poetry as a tribute to ‘The Boss’. Well played, sir. - As famed music stylist Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. aka Snoop Dog, (who has a significant, financially lucrative music catalog of his own with estimates at $150-225million), says: “I was puttin’ a spin on it, Holmes, mixin’ it up for da kids, yo!” -
- “And to all, a good night.” -

As you suggested, I did look into it more. Looking at, at least three other online music reviewers about Bruce Springsteen selling this catalogue and the majority made references to “chump change”:

Correction to @12:21am: "... *nothing compared to..." - *(example 'autocorrect' issue)

Sorry @zichi 9:52pm (and again, no offense was intended). As fo me, You know English is a 2nd language, so I did look it up. And yes, you did mix metaphors: "A bunch of" means many or much, as well as "chunk of change" means 'many coins' or 'much money'.
(So, "*a whole bunch of a ton of money" *@9:52pm doesn't seem common usage either.)
I just questioned whether You may have meant little, "*chump change", *like that sum is nothing competed to what Sony will make in the long run. Or if, it was, perhaps, a typo on your part or an 'autocorrect' issue I see occurring quite frequently lately with even some of the more seasoned, veteran posters and native speakers. Oh well, sorry if you took offense. - Best to You.
And, "Good for you" too, Bruce. $500 million is 'no mere pittance', 'nothing to frown upon', definitely not "chump change". (Of course, that's My 'humble' opinion.)

Snowy, I agree, as I was also put off by the awkwardness of that sentence.
And nice product placement of the premier folk group of the '60s. That one flew over the heads of our compatriots across the ocean.

No just think if Stevie Wonder sold his catalog it would be a bank breaking record!!
bass4funk
Good for them, really.
For the people that like and appreciate his music, more power to them.
Kinda wrong musical examples to use, but hey…..
funkymofo
Yeah, he's good, but he's no Kid Rock or Ted Nugent, huh.

Come on now, @bass4funk 6:48pm: “As if anyone cares.”- We agreed on this back May 5 when Bruce was awarded the Woodie Guthrie Prize:
“Like his music or not, Bruce Springsteen is a true American storyteller worthy of this honor. 337 songs attributed to Bruce. ”Fire” was intended for and sent to Elvis but he passed away before it could be produced. The Pointer Sisters, Patti Smith, The Ramones, Johnny Cash, (even Elmer Fudd) and many others owe respect and gratitude to Bruce for their Gold record careers. Springsteen leaves a legacy documenting many aspects of a ‘real’ America.” -Even if you don’t listen to his music directly from the songwriter, you’ve heard him ‘sampled’ countless times.
bass4funk
As if anyone really cares. Good for him.

Born in the U$A but Japanese money is just as good. Half a billion! Well done!!

That's what U2 plans on doing, but they're still around after all these decades and going strong.
Bruce has written 1000 songs, some we may never hear or may finally hear long after he's gone. Prince also wrote over 1000 songs and he bought all of them from Warner Bros. Two years later Prince is dead and there's legal fights out the yinyang. It wasn't until this year a 'new' (shelved in 2011, unreleased) Prince album came out, 'Welcome 2 America'. it's really good.
Maybe Bruce, Dylan and the others just want to enjoy the fruit of their labors and not get into the legal funk (no pun intended) that Prince's death left behind.

Going out like a champ. Love it.

Great musician and deservedly popular. Now he has an opportunity to use it to give back to the community that made him wealthy. I hope he does.
snowymountainhell
A somewhat-confusing, redundant mix of metaphors @zichi 9:58am (no offense intended) or, is there more to it ?: - Seems $500million is both “*a whole bunch” and “a chunk of change” *to the average Peter, Paul or Mary.
Or, do you mean as the Americans say: “*chu*mp change”, meaning a pittance ??
snowymountainhell
Stevie Nicks ¥100million, Bob Dylan ¥300million and now, Bruce Springsteen ¥500 million. Wonder if many will agree with the ranking and/or value attribute to each of these great talents?
snowymountainhell
Bruce’s stories & music were all topical at the time of their release. Wonder if younger audiences will listen and reflect on them in the same context they were penned.

Wow, that is some cheese. Guess from artist POV better to have money up front for himself and his family.
