The Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia. Already on the map

What's next? A collaboration with Walking Dead and we get a zombie-Rocky?

No, not literally.

The problem with the incorrect use of the word literally, is that if we start using literally to mean figuratively, there will literally be no work that means literally.

News of any new "Rocky" movie always makes me apprehensive. But, regardless, there is no question that Rocky and Stallone have a special meaning for Philly. And an inspiration for many others over the years.

@Strangerland,
Indeed! This is for you. To your point:

I have no idea if he actually was, but better a draft dodger than to fight in Vietnam - a country the USA had no place being in in the first place. Anyone who things otherwise has just been brainwashed by the Military Industrial Complex. Go to their wars, fight for their profits.

After watching the trailer for this I thought it looked kind of cool. Whether or not the movie is good doesn't matter to me with these films as much as whether or not the film has heart. One thing I like is that it isn't just a Rocky remake, but it still allows younger generations to be a part of something that has been almost legendary.

I'm not a linguist (and don't think you are), but here are some thoughts academic linguists have on the subject. Literally.

This ends discussion on this point.

I think you should wait until AFTER the movie is released to make a statement like that. If the movie turns a profit then it obviously will not have been "milked dry".
Stallone is an actor, not a "big war hero". He has also played police officers but that doesn't make him a cop.

You mean 'bring back John Rambo again', the last Rambo film was in 2008.

I have nothing but disgust for the coward Stallone, who dodged the draft and hid during the Vietnam War, while the rest of us actually served. Then, he came home when it was safe, to make movies about how wasn't "Sylvia" anymore, but a Big War Hero.

@Strange & @ Zones and other pedants
Languages change as do word meanings. English has lots of flex to it; deal with it. Pedant not unless you want to be pedant-ed.

zones2surf: I'm with you on this one. He's too close to Rocky, I think. He did a great job with The Expendables (the first one, anyway) bringing back the 'tough guy' to action movies, and even pointing out somewhat self-depracatingly in the third movie how they've gotten old and how the young generation doesn't require as much muscle but relies more on tech (the only good part of that movie). But like it would be if he decided to bring back John Rambo, I sometimes wonder if he shouldn't let Rocky go.
Still... he has a way of bringing back the old spirit of it to an extent.

What is this, like the 7th sequel/spin-off? Enough already! The Rocky cash cow has been milked dry!
