Thank you Stan Lee for all those marvellous characters you created.

Along with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, you brought color and excitement into a wee child's life. You still do.

I had never heard of him until this morning. Then again, I stopped reading comics when I was about eleven....

Truly a man who loved his fans, I've heard not one bad story about the guy and even in his last few years he tried to stay in the community and connect with the fans. Truly a shame but it's great that he lived to see his characters reach a whole new level of popularity with millions around the world with the cinematic universe.

Certainly came to success and recognition later in life.  Seems to have had a blast.

RIP

Every few years I look him up on the internet to see what his latest ventures were. I was always surprised how well he was doing for his age. He was hosting that Superhumans show on Discovery Channel too which was pretty interesting. His mark on this World will be forever felt.

RIP Stan Lee. Thank you for the countless hours of entertainment and laughs I had from your creations. You will be remembered with fondness.

May the next stage of your journey be as delightful as your last.

His comics, esp. Spiderman in the newspapers, mentioned modern problems facing society such as villians who are drug addicts (the Rattler) or industrial accident victims (Doc Ock) or mind-control cults and of course Peter with his doting aunt and his mercurial relationship with girlfriend Mary Jane Watson and him being in college. These aspects of modern issues are what made Marvel comics better - these superheroes and villains had human qualities and human traits and human issues that we can all relate to, not just a bunch of  hocus pocus pow. They were more believable. We need more insightful people like Stan the Man.

RIP Stan Lee. May God Rest your Soul.

I can picture him being led to the Pearly Gates with Spider-man and The Black Panther on each arm.

The impression he left on me as a child unquestionably helped shape my future.

RIP

That's like saying you've never heard of Michael Jordan because you don't watch basketball. You should be embarrassed...

RIP Stan the man

Fortunate that we got to meet the man himself and got a photo op at a convention several years ago. Even then we were already worried that he can go at any time in his advance age - that's why we felt we had to meet him while we still got the chance. Excelsior!

Btw, HAL 9000 of "2001: A Space Odyssey" also just died. Or rather, the voice of HAL - Douglas Rain:

RIP to them

RIP! There will never be another original like Stan (the man) Lee. Grew up reading Marvel and just can’t imagine a world without thr man. I just to dream as a kid, it would be so cool if some of these comics would become movie features and when that finally happened years later, it was like getting that kid excitement all over again.

Stan, you were the best and there will be no other, you brought so much joy, inspiration and happiness to millions of people around the world, you lived a long and fruitful life. Your legend will live on forever. Thank you. Hope you rest in your Marvel universe.

Apparently his children were fighting over his estate even before his death. Shameful !

R.I.P. Stan
