On the day of the funeral of the Queen of Soul, who died last week, the Band of the Welsh Guards played a version of Respect during the Changing Of The Guard outside Buckingham Palace.

Aretha Franklin was an all time great at her craft. Sad that she is gone.

RIP Queen of Soul and thank you for all of the great music you left behind for us to continue to enjoy.

She was the first woman performer inducted into the Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame. She didn't get that honor by being a choreographed lip-synching dumb sexpot pop tart. Aretha earned her fame and made a difference and she didn't care about image - yes, it was the music. T(w)een girls who really want to get into the music biz should take note and look at Aretha Franklin as a starting point.
