Started laughing as the anti male establishment continues to push the lie, lets have a look at like for like movies all figures are from IMDB and are grossed up into todays dollars $US.

Star Wars A New Hope 1977 Cost $44.7 million ($11million) Taking Worldwide $868,812,007 ($775,398,007 as at 2011) Around 19.7 times cost in todays money.

Star Wars The Force Awakens 2015 Cost $260 million ($245million 2015) Takings Worldwide $2billion 2018 Around 7.7 times cost in todays money.

Jurassic Park 1993 Cost $110 million ($63million 1993) Taking Worldwide $1 Billion 2018 Around 9.9 times cost

Jurassic World 2018 Cost $170 million Taking Worldwide $1.3 Billion 2018 Around 7.6 times cost.

Great news. Some fab films being made, low budget and big studio that no longer have to rely on the white/straight/male staple.

Not that your classic bloke films haven't their place, natch. It's just that there's so much room for everyone else, now.

Researchers found every $1 billion film at the box office — including films like "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," ''Jurassic World" and "Beauty and the Beast" — passed the Bechdel test. Among films that cost more than $100 million to make, the ones that passed the Bechdel test grossed on average $618 million worldwide, while those that didn't averaged $413 million.
