Supermodel Ai Tominaga announces divorce from patissier husband

Supermodel Ai Tominaga, 26, announced on her blog on Monday that she had filed divorce papers earlier in the day at her city office, ending her five-year marriage to her Paris-based patissier husband.

Tominaga wrote that the pair had decided it would be better for both of them if they continued on separate paths. She wrote: “As with any couple, we’ve been through a lot. We have a precious child, and we pledged to stay together forever, so this was not an easy decision to make.”

Tabloid magazine Flash reported on a possible divorce in their March 3 issue, in which they said she was made to get down on her hands and knees and apologize to her husband in front of many people. Tominaga touched on that again on Monday, saying: “It didn’t happen the way they reported it, and as we were in the middle of working out our future, I just denied it.”

Tominaga will retain custody of their 4-year-old son and said she plans to continue her modeling career. “I’ve got my concerns about just the two of us moving forward, but I’ll do it my way and stay positive,” she said.

You always look more beautiful when surrounded sufficiently less attractive women.

And its collorary: A Japanese girl with healthy jet-black hair always looks more beautiful when surrounded by girls with dyed-brown damaged hair.

Well golden retrievers certainly are impressive among dogs. In fact, perhaps that's her claim to fame - "impressive among dogs". You always look more beautiful when surrounded sufficiently less attractive women.

About the divorce, there really isn't any hard information about the circumstances so that's that.

Please stop making bad comments about her. I think she is a goddess! I get the feeling the husband must have done something really stupid for her to divorce him.

I didn´t understand the ¨supermodel¨ title. I doubt she has posed for important magazines, outside Tokyo.

She is a super model?? I have seen better looking golden retrievers walking the streets!!!

Maybe she was getting fat on the pastries and needed some time away.

she is known in france, she even looks a little french does she not? she has good taste to marry a patissier, shame it did not last

A little dogaiza would not hurt anyone. She has got the money to divorce. Some of us unfortunately do not.

IMHO I also believe that gossip rags should be licensed, and their papers to have disclaimers which state clearly, "This is a rumor which we are gossipping about".

Gossip-mongers should be taxed harshly

Only truth should remain free, and unpublished.

i still feel they should give monthly relationship counselling to couples, regardless of whether they can be fine without.

there is still need for an objective third party, who is regulated by government to be impartial and not take sides.

IMHO in addition to social workers, Buddhist priests could perform this function and get a supplement from the government.

A characterless face is easily forgotten. "I don't remember those others we interviewed, but I sure remember the guy with three noses! Man, he has a nose for good deals. Let's hire him!" Every year a new face hits the ads we see in every train, magazine, etc. Gotta have character to be a character.

Divorce aside, how the hell did this lady ever become a supermodel? Or is this just a bad picture of her?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She's a supermodel ???? Geez...they aren't very fussy about looks here.

soldave-that is why I put the almost, but I think uncommon is a better word to use. Just seen it so much up here and my friend is still fighting to see his kid. Another had his ex-wife put the kid in the Kobbo Cottage up here and he did not know the child was in the orphanage. He was also still paying child support and could not see the child. He then found out she remarried to an Officer in the Navy and he sued her for paying child support and for custody of the child. Last I heard, the Officer is still paying for it...

Well better no marriage then a bad marriage. There is nothing wrong with growing up in a broken home. Everyone has different motives for divorce. Maybe she is career obsessed but maybe they are both just unhappy. You don't want to find out years later that you are still married to someone you are not 'in' love with. It's not the same as loving them. Although people these days tend to give up anything that is too tough. Eh, to each their own. A single mother will have to be strong, whether her words are false or not she is trying to put up a good front. Why is everyone so judgemental... oh I forgot.. lol.

Blue_Tiger: There is only one reason for this divorce hapening: selfishness. And your case, friend, is the exception, not the rule....

Have you suffered blunt force trauma to the head recently??? Obviously, the question of selfishness is a whole different subject from what I was addressing. I was talking about your supposition on how the kid's life is ruined.

Quite the nose on that gal. Nothing very super about this model.

Not presumptive, arrogant, nor ignorant, likeitis. There is only one reason for this divorce hapening: selfishness. And your case, friend, is the exception, not the rule....

I think she was worried about keeping trim for her career. Her ex should train to be a salad chef and beg...

Blue_Tiger: By the way, Ai, thanks for messing up your kid's life....thanks too, to the husband....

I find your statement as arrogant as it is presumptive as it is ignorant.

My parents divorced and my life was not ruined. On the other hand, I know couples that ruin their kids lives by staying together when they should have divorced long ago.

So he can make pie, but not eat it?

pledged to stay together

??? you mean "vowed" right?

Is she borrowing Javier Bardem's wig?

blue tiger> although its all too easy to joke and speculate...you are probably right. Some people will sacrifice everything and everyone if it means they can reach their goals.

I feel for the kid....as she will most likely neglect them too. nannies etc.

"I’ll do it my way..."

Perhaps this is why the divorce is takign place: selfishness....

I want to know how she got to be a supermodel with a nose that could double up as a snow plough.

Supermodel Ai Tominaga, 26, How come? JT sucks. According to Wiki, Ai Tominaga (冨永 愛 ,Tominaga Ai, born 30 November 1980 in Kanagawa) is a Japanese fashion model and actress.

Moderator: The story is correct. Tominaga is 26.

SHE did not know how to caress the dough, or the dough simply would not rise. Must be one of those reasons.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

It must be difficult to stay stick thin if your husband keeps making delicious pastries. I've often contemplated divorce because of my wife's cooking.

IchyaWarFare - It's uncommon but not unheard of. Quite a few who can down here in Okinawa from what I gather.

Maybe she was loafing off from her marital duties...wanted to have her cake and eat it too.

why was she made to apologize? any juicy story?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sounds like her ex won`t be able to see his own kid anymore.

I do not know of any ex's that have been able to see their kids after divorce unless they have some special agreement. It is almost unheard of here in Japan.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I like kids... and supermodels, I think this can work!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Oh! No!
