Many of Swift's songs are catchy tunes. That's all I expect or want from her. The rest of her stuff, I can ignore like almost everyone else.

The same applies to Elton John and Van Halen and other entertainers. The more vocal an entertainer is outside the entertainment arena, the less I want to support their art.

I remember way back in the early 80's a gay stylist told me they are the best stylists because they want all men to look great after a haircut. And that women stylist subconsciously want men not to look good. I had to start cutting my own hair after '85 since I could not find a male stylist -- sadly AIDS took its toll on gay men -- I wish President Trump would push for more funding into research. Instead we have sleepy/creepy Joe saying if he becomes president he will make sure there is a cure for cancer or something to that effect...

Strangerland, have you ever seen a gay pride parade? If not, let me tell you exactly what happens at one: "gay people parade up and down the street in public display." The comment you quoted is essentially a dictionary definition of a gay pride parade, not an indictment of the poster's opinion.

As to the underlying opinion that you referenced - I don't believe there is any opinion there at all, none whatsoever, regarding how sensei feels about gay people. The only opinion of the post is that Taylor Swift is unbalanced - she wants anti-gay people to keep their opinions private, while gay people are encouraged to bring their opinions public. (Personally, I don't agree with sensei's complaint - it's the government who needs to guarantee free speech to both sides, while Taylor Swift is free to support whomever she wants and say "shut up" to whomever she wants.) I don't dislike gay people as a rule, but I strongly dislike some of their behavior. "Pride" parades are one of those things I don't like. Trying to make rules on what language I should use is another. And the dislike goes beyond the gays. I also dislike it when any straight person supports such behavior. Don't act like that and I won't dislike you or disrespect you or discriminate toward you. Don't ask - don't tell - don't care so don't wanna know.
