Bugle Boy of Company B
Disney finally makes a good choice!
Heres hoping he simply remakes episode 7 and tells a good story with a unique plot, interesting dialogue, and characters with depth.

I really hate all this revivals/remakes.
They should have just left the original Star Wars series alone, everything they made as before and after does not have the same impact as the original.
Can't they think of anything new???

In the future people will be saying "I wish they would leave the remakes alone and not do another remake of the remake".

Is the Empire going to build another Death Star with a fatal weakness?

@kohakuebisu
No, this is going to be an earlier era, hundreds to thousand years before the events of Darth Vader saga.

Thor: Ragnarok was both visually impressive and deeply silly so this might actually be worth watching. Perhaps the excellent Mr. Waititi can bring some of his magic to the clearly exhausted Star Wars brand.
Russian Doll was fantastic. Leslye Headland'll have to cut out all the effing and jeffing for Disney though.

How many star wars can they squeeze out of the original success!!?
NONE. most original fans are turned off by the constant REMAKING.

His first film, What We Do In The Shadows is hilarious, as is the TV series based on it, which he also had a hand in.

An inspired choice. I hope it's as daring and dark as The Last Jedi.
Not me. As for remaking and all that? The original film borrowed heavily from Kurosawa (The Hidden Fortress), Flash Gordon and Dune. And possibly even the Valerian and Laureline series.
I'll gladly spend another 40 years anticipating new releases, if I'm still around :-)
