Any alternate voice that can show good, democratic, Taiwanese people with all their flaws, but still being the truth is good. Good for Taiwan, good for West Taiwan, good for the region as they can directly refute CCP lies.

I can see a new show, directly taking CCP news and showing the truth to the world about it - perhaps the top 5 CCP stories each day - good or bad. Sorta like how TGTP - The Great Translation Project - translates popular (good and bad) social media posts from inside CCP-Controlled China for the rest of the world to see. Seeing what real mainland Chinese people are posting ... er ... before anything embarrassing gets censored ... is good for the world. Xenophobia on display let's the world see the real mainland people ... with a few kinder Chinese counter posting to show that not everyone there is small minded.

That's the point of TaiwanPlus. Even if they only have an online media presence for the rest of the world to see, that is better than the current vacuum lacking truth provided by "approved" CCP mouthpieces.

Chinese province of Taiwan launches English language TV channel to give it more international punch..

Good !!..

So you do want them to give more international punch to this then:

"Internationally our voice has not been fully heard. China continually disseminates that Taiwan is part of China, and lots of people believe that. You tell them that's not the case, and they ask, why?" Lee added. "So in the future we'll be using Taiwan's own media to explain to the international community why that's not so."

Be careful what you ask for! Lol

https://www.taiwanplus.com/livestream is their livestream. When I checked it out, it was a personal interest story about a bookseller in Mandarin with Chinese and English subtitles. Meh. The bookseller seemed to have lived some time in Texas and was taken in by the "Who's Who" scam - he had a certificate.

As long as the channel is listed as "state backed", like VoA, RT, and all external CCP propaganda channels ... then this is fair.

Oddly, on the "truth index," VoA is considered "high" for factual reporting https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/voice-of-america/

Overall, we rate Voice of America Least Biased based on balanced story selection and minimal use of loaded words. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to proper sourcing and a clean fact check record.

While the CCP run CGTN is

Overall, we rate China Global Television Network (CGTN) news Questionable based on promoting pro-state propaganda and heavy censorship.

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/china-global-television-network-cgtn/

While RT new is

Overall, we rate RT Questionable based on promoting pro-Russian propaganda, conspiracy theories, numerous failed fact checks, and a lack of author transparency.

https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/rt-news/

So, they'll need some time to build up content before a rating can be known. The bar isn't very high compared to autocratic govt news. No rating yet.

JapanToday is rated "High" for factual reporting: https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/japan-today/

Overall, we rate Japan Today Left-Center biased based on editorial positions that moderately favor the left. We also rate them High for factual reporting due to a clean fact check record.

Just want people to know that all media is slanted, but if we know what the slant is, we can better understand and interpret the reporting.

BTW, CBC (Canandian Broadcasting) is just like JT.

The Taipei Times https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/taipei-times/ is like VoA. Least Biased, highly factual. That's a good sign that other news organizations in Taiwan will need to follow to be competitive on facts.

To give Taiwan a more international punch? Suppose it back fires?

The nation island of Taiwan launches English language TV channel to give it more international punch..

Good !!..

Time it teaches the world and China, that Taiwan is independent of anyone else, and to let people know the Taiwanese point of view from their own mouths. And to correct China's incorrect and frequent assertions of sovereignty over Taiwan.

Don't you mean "The Real China exiled in Taipei launches English language TV channel to give it more international punch"?

This is a very good idea. Too much of the Chinese-focused English language content on say YouTube is either CCP sympathetic or else cult-related productions, as in produced by Falun Gong/Dafa (NTD, China Uncensored, etc).

Granted that such Taiwanese content would be coming from their government, but it would be a free, freely-elected Chinese government, not the autocratic totalitarian one in Beijing, and would further show the world that an Independent Taiwan is an actual FACT, a living breathing nation with its own military, elections, interests, culture, international relationships, hopes and dreams.

Excellent.

We watch a broadcast tv channel here locally in Florida that is based in Taiwan.

Didn’t see anything about the missile launch in it today, must be prerecorded.

Wonderful, if it is on streaming platforms there shouldn't be access limitations.

I am watching this for sure!

The CCP will not be happy, they don't like being made fun of!!!

quote: The television channel is so far only available in Taiwan.

That somewhat defeats the object of it.

Broadcast on YouTube and upload full documentaries, tourist features (and some drama).

I hope they create a TV show like the "Daily Show" that makes fun of CCP propaganda, so the world can see the CCP for what it really is.

Please, only refer to Xi as "Pooh San!"

Good job Taiwan right out of the playbook, similar in spirit to how Nippon TV was established.

CCP video propaganda that can be used against the CCP will be really funny in the next few years. The CCP is completely tone deaf around what "news" is, since all they seem to be able to cover is following Xi aka - Uncle Pooh Bear - around and claiming he's like a father to everyone, especially when threatening free speech outside China or bullying neighbors.

Tokyo Living, your mates in West Taiwan are not going to like this a bit,

Anything that contradicts West Taiwans false messaging claiming Taiwan is anything but the independent, democratic country it clearly is can only be good and if the truth can be more easily spread by this channel so be it.
